Skies are clear early on this Thursday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 13 in Clifton down to -6 at Sandyston. Winds are mainly calm.

Arctic high pressure will be moving offshore and a southerly flow will bring moderating temperatures this afternoon but it will still be colder than normal.

A coastal storm will develop to our east and move up the coast and intensify. Depending on the track and intensity will determine snow amounts and the computer models are still not in agreement with the American (GFS) model has the storm too far to our east to give us significant snow while most of the other models have the storm closer to the coast which would give us heavier snow. At this time in the Clifton area may receive 4-8 inches of snow with less to our west and more to our east. However it is a tricky forecast so stay tuned for further updates.

MONDAY – JAN 31 – Sunny, high in the low 30s.

TUESDAY – FEB 1 – Mostly sunny, high near 40.

WEDNESDAY – FEB 2 – Mostly cloudy, high in the upper 40s.

OUTLOOK – A gale warning has been posted effective between 11 p.m. Friday night until 6 a.m. Sunday morning; no advisories expected Sunday afternoon through Monday.
