Sunny and not quite as cold today! Coastal storm to give us snow Friday night into Saturday morning, track and intensity and snowfall amounts still uncertain! Clearing and quite cold on Sunday!

Good morning everyone!

Skies are clear early on this Thursday morning and temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 13 in Clifton down to -6 at Sandyston. Winds are mainly calm.

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR JANUARY 27TH:

AVERAGE HIGH: 37 AVERAGE LOW: 22

RECORD HIGH: 67 – 1974 RECORD LOW: -5 – 1994

YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 27 LOW: 17 PRECIPITATION: NONE

Arctic high pressure will be moving offshore and a southerly flow will bring moderating temperatures this afternoon but it will still be colder than normal.

A coastal storm will develop to our east and move up the coast and intensify. Depending on the track and intensity will determine snow amounts and the computer models are still not in agreement with the American (GFS) model has the storm too far to our east to give us significant snow while most of the other models have the storm closer to the coast which would give us heavier snow. At this time in the Clifton area may receive 4-8 inches of snow with less to our west and more to our east. However it is a tricky forecast so stay tuned for further updates.

Clearing and quite cold on Sunday.

Mainly dry Monday through Wednesday and becoming milder.
