Mostly sunny, very hot and humid today with a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms! Mostly sunny on Friday and continued very hot but a little less humid! High heat to continue this weekend! Chance of showers and thunderstorms late Sunday night into Monday!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Thursday morning and it is quite warm with temperatures at 5 a.m. ranging from 75 in Clifton down to 65 at Walpack and Sandyston. Winds are light from the southwest and the humidity is high with dew points near 70.

Another very hot day with even more humidity today as a high pressure ridge is in our area ahead of a weak cold front that should move through tonight. Skies should be mostly sunny but there is a chance of some showers and thunderstorms later this afternoon and this evening. With highs in the upper 90s and dew points in the low 70s will make heat indexes to rise to 105 degrees. A heat advisory continues in effect through Sunday.

High pressure will then build into our area on Friday with mostly sunny skies, still very hot but a little less humid.

Very hot weather to continue this weekend, high temperatures on Saturday will be in the upper 90s and then near 100 on Sunday with higher humidity. A cold front approaching may touch off some showers and thunderstorms late Sunday night.

Showers and thunderstorms are possible on Monday as the cold front pushes through our area, with more clouds high temperatures will be a few degrees lower than the weekend.

Mainly dry weather Tuesday and Wednesday with very warm temperatures with highs both days around 90.

MONDAY – JUL 25 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the low 90s.

TUESDAY – JUL 26 – Mostly sunny, high near 90.

WEDNESDAY – JUL 27 – Partly sunny, high near 90.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory has been posted effective between noon today through 6 a.m. Friday morning for southwest winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 3-6 feet. Belmar’s ocean temperature is 74 degrees.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Friday through Sunday morning; possible small craft advisories Sunday afternoon through Monday.
