Finally a mostly sunny and milder day today! Still mostly sunny and mild but a bit more breezy on Friday! Dry and cool weather for the weekend! Continued dry much of next week with a slow warming trend!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Thursday morning, but there is some patchy fog of inland areas. Temperatures at 5 a.m. range from 54 in Clifton down to 45 at Hackettstown. Winds are calm or light westerly.

High pressure will build into the area as the stubborn low pressure that gave us the rain and cloudy skies of the last few days weakens and moves further offshore. Sunshine returns today for the first time this month and temperatures will rise to above normal readings with highs in the 70s.

Still mild on Friday but a cold front will cross the area at night with a slight chance of some sprinkles mainly inland.

Cooler but dry weather with plenty of sunshine for the weekend, temperatures will average below normal.

High pressure will continue to dominate much of next week, temperatures will be slightly below normal on Monday and rise to near or slightly above normal for the rest of the week.

SUNDAY – OCT 9 – Sunny, high in the low 60s.

MONDAY – OCT 10 – Sunny, high in the mid 60s.

TUESDAY – OCT 11 – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 60s.

WEDNESDAY – OCT 12 – Sunny, high near 70.

MARINE FORECAST: TODAY – Northwest winds becoming southerly this afternoon around 10 knots, seas 2 feet.

OUTLOOK: No advisories expected during the day on Friday; possible advisories Friday night through the day on Saturday; no advisories expected Saturday night through Monday.
