Mostly cloudy, mild and humid today with fog and drizzle this morning and a chance of showers this afternoon and evening! Sunny, cooler and much less humid on Thursday! Dry with near normal temperatures Friday through the weekend! Showers likely on Halloween!

Good morning everyone!

Dense fog with some drizzle covers much of the area early this morning and temperatures are unseasonably mild with early readings ranging from 63 in Clifton down to 60 at High Point. These readings are warmer than the average daytime high. Winds are mainly calm.

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR OCTOBER 26TH:

AVERAGE HIGH: 60 AVERAGE LOW: 41

RECORD HIGH: 73 – 2010 RECORD LOW 30 – 1987

YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 68 LOW: 59 PRECIPITATION: .28″

The coastal warm front has weakened, but today will remain mostly cloudy with a chance of drizzle and fog this morning, and a chance of showers this afternoon and evening. Although this afternoon we may see some sunshine. A cold front will cross the area tonight.

High pressure will build from the Great Lakes tomorrow and we should see plenty of sunshine; it will be cooler and much drier with dew points falling into the 30s.

The high pressure will then build to our north on Friday and control our weather through the weekend with plenty of sunshine each day and near normal temperatures.

Unfourtantly it appears that Halloween will be wet as an area of low pressure moves into the area which will likely cause some rain. Showers are still possible on Tuesday.

At this point much of next week temperatures will average well above normal.
