Skies are cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and there is still some light rain and drizzle falling in parts of the area. Temperatures are unseasonably mild with readings ranging from 55 in Clifton down to 49 at High Point. Winds are mainly calm.

The low pressure system that gave us the rain yesterday is slowly moving through the area. Today will be another cloudy day with only occasional light rain or drizzle which should end by later this afternoon. It will continue be quite mild with highs in the upper 50s to near 60. Rainfall amounts should be less than 1/10th of an inch.

High pressure will build into our area on Thursday with mostly sunny skies returning, it will still be mild.

Dry and cooler Friday and Saturday as high pressure continues to control our weather.

A weak low pressure system will give us a chance of rain Sunday afternoon and evening with some of the precipitation inland may be mixed with snow.

Dry on Tuesday with near seasonable temperatures.

THURSDAY – DEC 8 – Mostly sunny and breezy, high in the mid 50s.

FRIDAY – DEC 9 – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 40s.

SATURDAY – DEC 10 – Mostly cloudy, high in the mid 40s.

SUNDAY – DEC 11 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain in the afternoon and evening possibly mixed with snow inland, high in the mid 40s.

MONDAY – DEC 12 – Partly sunny, high in the low 40s.

TUESDAY – DEC 13 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 40s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Thursday evening for north-northwest wind to 25 knots, seas 3-6 feet.

OUTLOOK: Small craft advisories likely to continue Thursday night through Sunday.
