Skies are mostly clear early on this Thursday morning and there is a wide range in temperatures with early readings ranging from 36 at my station in Clifton down to 20 at Walpack. Winds are calm or light southwesterly!

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR FEBRUARY 9TH:

YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 54 LOW: 34 PRECIPITATION: NONE

A storm system over the mid-Mississippi valley will move to the Great Lakes today and a warm front associated with the low will move to our north by this evening. We should see an increase in clouds with a low chance of light showers tonight. Temperatures will be in the 50s today and stay in the mild 50s tonight.

A cold front will cross the area on Friday with a brisk northwest flow, temperatures will continue to be in the 50s as the cooler air won’t arrive until Friday night.

Cooler over the weekend, Saturday should be dry but there is a chance of showers Sunday afternoon into early Monday morning as a weak frontal system moves through the area.

Mild much of next week and after a dry Monday and Tuesday another frontal system may give us some showers on Wednesday.

TODAY – FEB 9 – Increasing cloudy, high in the low 50s.

TONIGHT – Cloudy in the evening with a chance of light showers then becoming partly cloudy, temperatures rising to the mid 50s after midnight.

FRIDAY – FEB 10 – Mostly sunny and breezy, highs in the upper 50s.

SATURDAY – FEB 11 – Mostly sunny, breezy and cooler, high in the mid 40s

SUNDAY – FEB 12 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers in the afternoon and night, high in the upper 40s.

MONDAY – FEB 13 – Chance of an early morning showers then becoming partly sunny, high in the low 50s.

TUESDAY – FEB 14 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 50s.

WEDNESDAY – FEB 15 – Cloudy with a chance of showers, high in the mid 50s.

MARINE FORECAST: TODAY – Southerly winds to 15 knots seas 4 feet.

OUTLOOK: A small craft advisory has been posted effective between 5 p.m. this afternoon through 11 a.m. Friday morning; no advisories expected Friday afternoon through Sunday morning; advisories; advisories likely Sunday afternoon and night with gales possible; advisories to continue for Monday.
