Cooler today with again filtered sunshine from haze and smoke from the Canadian wildfires! Seasonably cool Thursday and Friday with a chance of an afternoon or evening shower both days! Seasonably mild and mainly dry weather for the weekend! Some significant rain possible early next week!

Skies are mainly clear but it continues to be quite hazy and smoky early this morning. Temperatures range from 54 in Clifton down to 40 at Walpack. Winds are light from the west.



RECORD HIGH: 97 – 2008 RECORD LOW: 46 – 2000


Today will be cooler as low pressure continues off the Maine coast and high pressure builds from the west. Skies again will be hazy and smoky from the Canadian wildfires, there may be a break in the smoke after daybreak but more haze and smoke is expected later this afternoon and evening.

The upper level low off the Maine coast will continue to give us cool temperatures tomorrow and again on Friday, there will be a low chance of an afternoon or evening shower on Thursday with a better chance Friday afternoon and evening.

The weekend weather at this point looks mainly dry with seasonably warm temperatures.

A slow moving frontal system will give us the best chance of significant rainfall Monday into Tuesday.

THURSDAY – JUNE 8 – Mostly sunny with a chance of an afternoon or evening shower, high in the low 70s.

FRIDAY – JUNE 9 – Mostly cloudy with afternoon showers likely with a chance of a thunderstorm, high near 70.

SATURDAY – JUNE 10 – Mostly sunny, highs in the upper 70s.

SUNDAY – JUNE 11 – Mostly sunny, highs in the low 80s. Chance of showers after 8 p.m.

MONDAY – JUNE 12 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, highs near 80.

TUESDAY – JUNE 13 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, highs in the upper 70s.

MARINE FORECAST: TODAY – Northwest winds becoming southerly this afternoon to 10 knots, seas 1 foot.

OUTLOOK: No advisories expected Thursday through Sunday.
