Another day of beautiful early August weather with plenty of sunshine, comfortable temperatures and low humidity! Increasing clouds on Thursday and a little more humid! Showers and thunderstorms expected on Friday with higher humidity! Pleasant weather again for the weekend!

Skies are mainly clear early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures are the coolest since June 22nd with readings ranging from 59 in Clifton down to a chilly 46 at Walpack. Winds are calm or light northerly. The air quality is good with an index of 35.

High pressure over the area will give us another very nice day for early August with plenty of sunshine, comfortable temperatures and low humidity with dew points only in the upper 40s to the low 50s.

As the high pressure moves offshore a southerly flow will cause an increase in clouds along with somewhat higher humidity.

A frontal system in our area will give us showers and thunderstorms on Friday along with high humidity as dew points rise to near 70.

High pressure will then give us a nice weekend with plenty of sunshine both days along with seasonable temperatures and humidity.

More humid early next week with a chance of showers mainly on Monday.

CLIFTON’S CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR JULY 2023

July’s average temperature was 78.0 degrees making this the 8th warmest July since 1973. The highest temperature was 94 degrees set on the 5th with the lowest temperatures recorded was 61 degrees on the 31st. Precipitation was near normal with 4.33″, however many places around the area had much more rainfall especially over the Hudson Valley.
