Rain this morning then a break in the rain this afternoon with possible strong to severe thunderstorms this evening! Showers still possible on Tuesday but becoming less humid and breezy by Tuesday evening! Sunny and pleasantly warm on Wednesday! Mainly dry on Thursday with shower chances at night! Mainly dry Friday into the day on Saturday with more showers possible Saturday night into Sunday!

Rain is falling over all or much of the area early on this Monday morning and temperatures range from 69 in Clifton down to 63 at High Point. Winds are light from the south. The air quality is moderate with an index of 68.

A warm front moving through the area this morning will continue to give us showers till around 8 a.m., we should stay mainly dry the rest of this morning into this afternoon but some showers and possible strong to severe thunderstorms are possible this evening with strong gusty winds and heavy rain. Even a small and brief tornado is possible.

A cold front will cross the area on Tuesday with a low chance of additional showers, the front will be followed by a brisk westerly wind bringing in less humid air by Tuesday evening.

Wednesday looks to be a very nice summer day with plenty of sunshine and lower humidity although it still will be a little windy.

Another frontal system may touch off some showers Thursday night. Temperatures will be near seasonable levels.

At this point Friday into the day on Saturday looks to be dry but another disturbance may touch off more showers Saturday night into Sunday. Temperatures again will be near normal but it will be a little more humid.

TODAY – AUG 7 – Rain this morning until around 8 a.m. then remaining mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms late this afternoon, some storms may be accompanied by heavy rain and strong gusty winds, humid with highs in the low 80s.

TONIGHT – Showers and thunderstorms in the evening with some strong to severe thunderstorms possible with strong gusty winds and heavy rain, muggy with lows near 70.

TUESDAY – AUG 8 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers in the morning then partly sunny in the afternoon with still a chance of showers, becoming breezy and less humid by late in the day, highs in the low 80s.

WEDNESDAY – AUG 9 – Sunny, breezy and less humid, highs in the upper 80s.

THURSDAY – AUG 10 – Partly sunny, highs in the mid 80s, chance of showers at night.

FRIDAY – AUG 11 – Partly sunny, highs in the upper 80s.

SATURDAY – AUG 12 – Mostly sunny, highs in the upper 80s, chance of showers at night.

SUNDAY – AUG 13 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, highs in the mid 80s.
