Skies are cloudy early on this Friday morning and temperatures range from 26 in Clifton down to 20 at Sandyston. Winds are mainly light from the north. The air quality is moderate with an index of 72.

A low pressure will be moving into the area and then off the coast today, snow will develop this morning and continuing into this evening. Snowfall accumulations of 1-3 inches are likely with more snow across central and southern New Jersey and less snow across the Hudson Valley.

Arctic high pressure will then build into the area from the west this weekend giving us very cold air. Saturday will be the coldest day with highs only in the 20s. Slightly milder on Sunday with highs in the low 30s.

Milder temperatures next week but another low pressure system will give us a good chance of precipitation Tuesday afternoon through Thursday, most of the precipitation will be in the form of rain but some snow may mix in Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

TONIGHT – Chance of snow in the evening then clearing, lows in the upper teens, total accumulations of 1-3 inches.

SUNDAY – JAN 21 – Sunny, highs in the low 30s.

MONDAY – JAN 22 – Mostly sunny, highs in the upper 30s.

TUESDAY – JAN 23 – Increasing cloudiness with a chance of rain in the afternoon, highs in the low 40s. Chance or rain and snow at night.

WEDNESDAY – JAN 24 – Cloudy with a chance of rain or snow in the morning then a chance of rain in the afternoon and at night, highs in the low 40s.

THURSDAY – JAN 25 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain, highs near 50.
