Increasing cloudiness and quite mild with showers developing by late this afternoon and continuing into tonight! Cloudy and even milder on Wednesday with showers, becoming much cooler late at night! Mostly sunny but much cooler with gusty winds on Thursday! Not as cold on Friday with a chance of showers at night! Mild but unsettled weather for the weekend!

Skies are mostly clear early on this Tuesday morning and with near calm winds there is a rather large spread in temperatures with readings ranging from 35 in Clifton down to 26 at Walpack. The air quality is moderate with an index of 71.

Today will start off with some sunshine but we should see an increase in clouds as a frontal system approaches from the west. There is a chance of showers late afternoon with showers becoming more likely at night. Temperatures will be mild and with enough sunshine highs may approach the 60 degree mark.

Showers on Wednesday and it will be even milder with highs in the low – mid 60s. A strong cold front will sweep through the area Wednesday evening followed by much colder air. Also winds will be strong with some gusts to 35 mph.

One day of cold air on Thursday with highs only near 40 and with brisk winds it will feel even colder despite plenty of sunshine.

Friday should be milder with less wind as high pressure moves through the area.

The upcoming weekend looks to be unsettled but mild, the highest chance of rain will be on Saturday as a weak area of low pressure moves into the area.

FRIDAY – MAR 1 – Mostly sunny, highs near 50.

SATURDAY – MAR 2 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain, highs in the mid 50s.

SUNDAY – MAR 3 – Partly sunny, highs in the upper 50s.

MONDAY – MAR 4 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain, highs in the mid 50s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory will be in effect from 10 a.m. this morning through 1 a.m. Wednesday morning for southerly winds with gusts to 30 mph, seas 5-9 feet.

OUTLOOK: A gale warning has been issued effective between 1 a.m. Wednesday morning through 11 a.m Thursday morning; gales likely to continue through Thursday afternoon; no advisories expected for Friday.
