Skies are cloudy early on this Friday morning and rain is falling over much of the area. Temperatures range from 49 in Clifton down to 45 at High Point. Winds are a little gusty out of the east. The air quality is good with an index of 31.

Low pressure along a front to our south will give us a brisk easterly flow of cool air. Periods of rain today tapering off to drizzle before ending tonight. High temperatures will only be in the low 50s. Rainfall amounts will be around 1/2 inch.

High pressure will then build in from the northwest on Saturday and it should be dry with continued cool temperatures.

Another disturbance will give us a good chance of showers Saturday night into Sunday, temperatures will continue to be below normal.

Monday will be dry with near seasonable temperatures.

Still another low pressure area will likely give us more showers Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday. Temperatures will still be near normal.

TODAY – MAY 10 – Cloudy, breezy and chilly with periods of rain, highs only in the low 50s.

TONIGHT – Rain tapering off to drizzle before ending, lows in the mid 40s.

SATURDAY – MAY 11 – Partly sunny, highs in the low 60s, chance of showers at night.

SUNDAY – MAY 12 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, highs in the upper 50s.

MONDAY – MAY 13 – Mostly sunny, highs in the low 70s.

TUESDAY – MAY 14 – Partly sunny in the morning then becoming mostly cloudy in the afternoon with showers likely, highs in the mid 70s.

WEDNESDAY – MAY 15 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, highs near 70.

THURSDAY – MAY 16 – Mostly sunny, highs in the mid 70s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Saturday evening for northeast winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 5-8 feet.

OUTLOOK: No advisories expected Sunday the day on Monday; advisories possible Monday night into Tuesday.
