Skies are cloudy early on this Thursday morning and there are still some light showers falling over parts of the area. Temperatures range from 64 in Clifton down to 59 at High Point. Winds are light from the east-southeast. The air quality is good with an index of 30.

Another cool and cloudy day today with occasional showers as a stationary front is to our south and we will continue to have an onshore flow of air. Afternoon temperatures will be a few degrees milder than yesterday with readings mainly in the low 70s.
The remains of Debby will move northward through eastern Pennsylvania and we will have a strong southerly flow of warmer and much more humid air as dew points rise well up into the 70s. Showers and thunderstorms are likely on Friday into Friday night and there is a chance of an isolated tornado from this system. Debby, along with a cold front, will move to our northeast at night.
High pressure will then dominate our weather Saturday through at least the middle part of next week with plenty of sunshine each day, seasonably warm temperatures and low humidity.

TONIGHT – Cloudy with a chance of showers in the evening then showers likely after midnight, lows in the upper 60s.
FRIDAY – AUG 9 – Mostly cloudy, windy and becoming warmer and much more humid with showers and a chance of thunderstorms, heavy rain likely. Wind gusts from the south up to 35 mph.
SATURDAY – AUG 10 – Chance of an early shower then becoming sunny and much less humid, breezy, highs in the low 80s.
SUNDAY – AUG 11 – Sunny, highs in the low 80s.
MONDAY – AUG 12 – Sunny, highs in the low 80s.
TUESDAY – AUG 13 – Sunny, highs in the mid 80s.
WEDNESDAY – AUG 14 – Mostly sunny, highs in the mid 80s.
MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Friday morning for easterly winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 4-5 feet. Belmar’s ocean temperature is 77 degrees.
OUTLOOK: A gale warning has been issued effective between 6 a.m. Friday morning until 6 a.m. Saturday morning; no advisories expected from Saturday afternoon through Monday.
