Sunny and seasonably mild today! Sunny and a little warmer on Wednesday! Dry and hot Thursday through Saturday! Not as warm with a chance of showers Sunday through early next week!

Skies are mainly clear early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures are cooler than normal with readings ranging from 49 in Clifton down to 38 at Walpack. Wind are mainly calm. The air quality is good with an index of 38.

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR JUNE 2ND:

AVERAGE HIGH: 76 AVERAGE LOW: 57

RECORD HIGH: 94 – 2023 RECORD LOW: 44 – 1993

YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 72 LOW: 53 PRECIPITATION: TRACE.

High pressure building from the Great Lakes will give us a sunny day today with near seasonable temperatures.

As the high moves closer on Wednesday we will continue to have a sunny day with slightly warmer temperatures.

The high will then move off the coast and we will have a southwesterly flow of hot air for Thursday through Saturday, we will continue to be dry.

A frontal system will then move into our area on Sunday giving us a chance of showers through at least Monday with lower temperatures.

TONIGHT – Partly cloudy, lows in the mid 50s.

WEDNESDAY – JUNE 3 – Sunny, highs in the low 80s.

THURSDAY – JUNE 4 – Sunny, highs in the upper 80s.

FRIDAY – JUNE 5 – Mostly sunny, highs in the low 90s.

SATURDAY – JUNE 6 – Partly sunny, highs in the low 90s.

SUNDAY – JUNE 7 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, highs in the low 80s.

MONDAY – JUNE 8 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, highs in the mid-upper 70s.

MARINE FORECAST: TODAY – Variable winds less than 5 knots, seas 2-3 feet.

CLIFTON’S CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR MAY 2026. Records began in 1973.

May’s average temperature was 63.0 degrees which is slightly above normal. The highest temperature was 96 set on the 19th, the lowest temperature was 42 which was recorded on the 1st. Precipitation was below normal with 2.72″ recorded which is slightly more than half of normal, most of the rainfall was from the storm from May 23rd through May 25th.

CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR SPRING 2026.

Spring’s average temperature was 54.4 degrees which made it the 7th warmest since my records began. Precipitation was below normal with 9.78 inches accumulating which made it the 8th driest spring since my records began. Only a trace of snow which fell in March.
