Skies are cloudy early on this Friday morning and there are some light showers falling in parts of the area. Temperatures are nearly 15 degrees cooler than this time yesterday with readings ranging from 61 in Clifton down to 55 at High Point. Winds are a little gusty out of the north-northeast. The air quality is good with an index of 23.

Today will be mostly cloudy, breezy and cool with some lingering showers possible this morning. As the cold front and low pressure area moves offshore. High temperatures will only be in the 70s.
An extended period of very pleasant mid-summer weather for the weekend and it should extend through most if not all of next week as a Canadian high pressure builds over the area. Temperatures will average near normal with low humidity through this period with plenty of sunshine each day.
