Skies are partly cloudy early on this Thursday morning and temperatures range from 69 in Clifton down to 59 at Sandyston. Winds are mainly calm. The air quality is moderate with an index of 53.

A slow moving cold front approaching our area will cause more stormy weather this afternoon and evening. A flood watch is in effect. Flash flooding is becoming more likely as rainfall rates may approach 2 inches per hour and this will affect the evening commute. Also there is an increasing threat of severe thunderstorms especially across central and southern parts of New Jersey and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

Much more quiet and pleasant weather for Friday as high pressure builds over the area.

Unsettled weather for the weekend as waves of low pressure moves through our area. The most likely chance of showers will be on Saturday with less chances for Sunday.

Pleasant weather returns for Monday through Wednesday with comfortable temperatures and humidity along with plenty of sunshine each day as high pressure will build over our area.
