Skies are mostly clear early on this Friday morning and it is milder than this time yesterday with temperatures ranging from 35 in Clifton down to 27 at High Point. Winds are gusty out of the west. The air quality is good with an index of 40.

The low pressure that gave us some flurries last evening has moved to off the New England coast while high pressure builds from the west. These systems will cause a strong westerly flow of seasonably cold air with gusts to 32 mph. Temperatures will only slightly rise with highs in the low 40s despite plenty of sunshine.

Another somewhat stronger low pressure system will likely give us snow mainly between midnight tonight through noon on Saturday. Possible accumulation of 1-3 inches.

The low will move offshore as high pressure builds again from the west which will give us another cold and windy day on Sunday, skies will be sunny.

Mainly dry weather much of next week with high temperatures slightly rising through the week. The next chance of showers will be around Friday.

Today we will have an increase in clouds as a weak clipper low pressure system moves to our north. Some light rain or snow showers are possible tonight that may produce a dusting across the higher elevations to our north and west.

The low pressure will move well offshore on Friday as high pressure builds from the west. It will be a sunny day but windy.

Another weak disturbance will likely give us some light snow Saturday morning with a dusting possible.

High pressure will build into our area on Sunday giving us sunny skies but cold temperatures.

High pressure will then dominate our weather Monday through Wednesday with a slight warming trend.

The storm that gave our area the highest snow accumulation since February 1, 2021 has moved well off the Nova Scotia coast as high pressure builds from the west. The combination of these systems will give a brisk northwest flow of cold air. Highs will be in the 30s, but with the winds it will feel more like the 20s.

Thursday we will see an increase in clouds as a weak low pressure moves to our north, which will then give us a chance of light snow showers at night.

Friday will be sunny, but once again it will be windy as low pressure moves to the Canadian Maritimes and high pressure builds again from the west.

Another weak disturbance will give a chance of rain or snow Saturday morning followed by a sunny but cold day on Sunday.

Dry early next week with a slight warming trend as high pressure moves offshore and a more southerly flow develops.

The coastal storm is located off the North Carolina coast and will move offshore New Jersey by this afternoon. Snow will be heavy at times this morning and should end by noon followed by clearing and breezy conditions this afternoon. Accumulations of 5-9 inches are expected. The sun will melt some of the snow this afternoon but as temperatures fall into the 20s tonight, untreated roads and sidewalks may become icy.

High pressure then builds into the area on Wednesday with cold temperatures and a brisk northwest wind.

Increasing clouds on Thursday, a weak disturbance may touch off some snow showers at night.

Seasonably cold weather should continue Friday through the weekend, another weak disturbance may again touch of some snow showers on Saturday.

Weak high pressure will give us a mostly cloudy day today with still continued mild temperatures.

The winter storm that we have been tracking is now expected to track off the New Jersey coast by Tuesday morning, it now appears that we will be in the colder part of the storm. Rain will begin late tonight but then change to heavy wet snow after midnight and continue through early Tuesday afternoon. Expected snow accumulations of 8-12″, a winter storm warning has been issued.

Mainly quiet weather the rest of the week through the weekend with only a couple of weak disturbances that may touch of some snow showers Thursday night and again on Saturday.
