Another chilly start on this Sunday morning as temperatures range from the upper 20s in the Clifton area down to the upper teens further inland, skies are partly to mostly cloudy and winds are mainly calm.  Some areas have record low temperatures again this morning.

Today we should have a mix of clouds and sun, high temperatures will be a few degrees higher than on Saturday and with less wind it will feel a little more comfortable.

A weak disturbance will give us a low chance of light rain or snow showers Monday morning, daytime highs will still be only in the 40s to near 50.

High pressure will give us dry and seasonably cool weather Tuesday and Wednesday.

A warm front will pass north of us Wednesday night giving us a chance of showers, Thursday will be milder but another cold front will cross the area in the afternoon.

Friday looks to be dry and cool.

A stronger disturbance will likely give us rain Friday night into Saturday.

SATURDAY  NOVEMBER 11, 2017  5:50 A.M.

It is very cold early on this Veterans Day morning, temperatures range from the low 20s in the Clifton area down to the low teens further inland, the coldest temperature at the present time is in Walpack where it has dropped down to a frigid 10 degrees, many record low temperatures have been broken.  Skies are mostly clear and there is a light northerly wind.

Today will be a sunny and very cold day but there will be much less wind than yesterday.

After another cold night we should have milder temperatures on Sunday but still be below normal.

A weak disturbance passing through on Monday may touch off some rain or snow showers in the morning.

The rest of next week looks to be mainly dry with temperatures at or slightly below normal, the only chance of showers is with a weak front coming through Wednesday night.

FRIDAY  NOVEMBER  10, 2017  5:52 A.M.

Skies are partly cloudy early on this Friday morning and temperatures have been dropping quickly now ranging from around 40 in the Clifton area down to 30 further inland, winds are gusty out of the north.

An Arctic cold front has passed to our east early this morning and cold Arctic air is moving into the area on strong winds which may gust to close to 40 mph, temperatures will drop throughout the day and be around 30 degrees by sunset.  Winds will diminish tonight but that will cause temperatures to fall to record levels with most places dropping into the teens.

Less wind on Saturday and temperatures will moderate somewhat by the afternoon but still be well below normal.

Milder on Sunday and mainly dry but there is a chance of some light rain at night which may be mixed with snow across the higher elevations inland.

Most of the rest of next week will remain dry with temperatures at or slightly below normal.

TODAY – NOV 10 – Mostly sunny, windy and colder, tempertures falling to 30 degrees by sunset, winds gusting to near 40 mph.

TONIGHT – Clear with diminishing winds, record cold with lows in the upper teens.

THURSDAY  NOVEMBER 9, 2017  5:47 A.M.

Skies are mostly clear early on this Thursday morning and it is cool with temperatures ranging from the upper 30s here in Clifton to the upper 20s further inland, winds are light out of the north.  There may be some patchy fog in some of the inland valleys.

A weak high pressure will give our area dry conditions today, we may see some increase in clouds late this afternoon as an Arctic cold front approaches.

The Arctic front will pass through early on Friday morning possibly accompanied by a few snow flurries inland and followed by a strong northwest flow of much colder air, high temperatures will be reached in the morning and then drop to below freezing by sunset.  Along with the cold temperatures winds are expected to gust to over 30 mph bringing wind chills down to the 20s through the day.  Lows overnight will drop off to the teens which will set record cold values throughout the area.

Winds diminish on Saturday but it still will be rather cold.  Dry weather to continue into Sunday with temperatures closer to normal.

A weak disturbance may give us some precipitation Sunday night into Monday mostly in the form of rain but may start off as a mixture of snow inland.

WEDNESDAY  NOVEMBER 8, 2017  6:01 A.M.

Skies are cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and temperatures range from the upper 30s in the Clifton area down to the low 30s further inland, winds are brisk out of the north.

The storm which caused the rain that was mixed with some snow inland has moved off the coast and high pressure will build into the area, we should see clouds slowly dissipate this morning and we should see mostly sunny skies this afternoon, temperatures will be slightly below normal.

Dry and seasonably cool weather will continue on Thursday.

An Arctic front will cross the area early on Friday morning bringing in by far the coldest air of the season, high temperatures will only be in the 30s during the day on Friday and with winds gusting to 30 mph will make it feel much colder.   Lows by Saturday morning will drop to the teens over much of the area.

Temperatures moderate a bit on Sunday with mainly dry conditions.

A weak low pressure may give us some light rain Sunday night into Monday.
