We have mostly clear skies early on this Election Day morning and temperatures are much cooler than this time yesterday ranging from the upper 30s in the Clifton area down to the low 30s further inland, winds are mainly calm.

Today we will see an increase in clouds with some light rain likely later this afternoon into this evening as a low pressure now over the Tennessee Valley moves east, some of the rain may mix with some snow well inland before ending by around midnight.

Seasonable cool and dry Wednesday and Thursday as high pressure builds into the area.

Arctic air will move into the area on Friday giving us the coldest night of the season so far, daytime highs will struggle to reach the 40 degree mark and tempertures Friday night will approach record low levels with the teens expected over much of the area.

Not as cold on Sunday but a weak disturbance may give us some light rain at night, precipitation may start as a wintery mix inland.

TODAY – NOV 7 – Increasing cloudiness with light rain likely after 4 p.m., high in the low 50s.

TONIGHT – Light rain likely before midnight, mostly cloudy, low in the mid 30s.

WEDNESDAY – NOV 8 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 50s.

THURSDAY – NOV 9 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 50s.

FRIDAY – NOV 10 – Sunny and cold, high only around 40.

VETERAN’S DAY – NOV 11 – Sunny, high in the low 40s.

SUNDAY – NOV 12 – Mostly cloudy with a chance of rain, high in the low 50s.

MONDAY – NOV 13 – Partly sunny, high in the mid 50s.

MARINE FORECAST:  A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Wednesday evening.  Today – northwest wind becoming northeast gusting to 25 knots, seas 4-7 feet.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected during the day on Thursday; small craft advisories expected Thursday night through Friday night; no advisories expected for Saturday.

MONDAY  NOVEMBER 6, 2017  5:50 A.M.

Skies are cloudy early on this Monday morning and temperatures are unseasonably mild with readings ranging from around 60 in the Clifton area down to the mid 50s further inland, winds are mainly calm.

A cold front will pass through the area this afternoon preceded by a southwest flow of quite mild air, showers will develop ahead of the front and it will be rather humid.  The front will be followed by a northwest flow of much cooler and drier air tonight.

Cool on Tuesday and we should remain dry but a front to our south may be close enough to give us a slight chance of some light rain in the afternoon and night which may be mixed with a little snow inland.

Cool and dry Wednesday and Thursday.

An Arctic cold front is expected to cross the area sometime on Friday followed by the coldest air of the season so far, early morning lows by Saturday morning may fall well down into the 20s and widespread freeze is likely across the entire region.

A weak disturbance may cause some light rain on Sunday that may start off as snow in some inland areas.

SUNDAY  NOVEMBER 5, 2017  5:49  A.M.  EASTERN STANDARD TIME!

We have cloudy skies early on this Sunday morning and temperatures are milder than this time yesterday ranging from the low 50s in the Clifton area to the mid 40s inland, there are some light showers in parts of the area.

High pressure is moving off the New England coast as a warm front approaches from the southwest, we should have cloudy skies most of today with some light showers likely.

The warm front will pass north of us tonight, overnight will be very mild and it will be rather warm on Monday with temperatures rising into the 70s.  A cold front will cross the area in the afternoon and evening accompanied by showers and followed by clearing and cooler weather for Monday night.

A period of mainly dry and cool weather Tuesday into the beginning of next weekend, the models have backed off from the very cold temperatures that was anticipated for Friday so we may not have the hard freeze that was anticipated for Friday morning.

TODAY – NOV 5 – Cloudy with showers likely, high in the low 60s.

TONIGHT – Cloudy with showers likely mainly in the evening, low in the upper 50s.

MONDAY – NOV 6 – Cloudy with a chance of showers in the morning, with showers likely in the afternoon and evening, mild with highs in the low 70s.

We have mostly clear skies early on this Saturday morning and temperatures are much more seasonable than yesterday with readings ranging from the mid 40s in the Clifton area down to the middle 30s further inland, winds are mainly calm.

High pressure building into the area from the Great Lakes will give us a sunny day with seasonably cool temperatures.

A warm front approaching from the southwest will cause some light rain or drizzle on Sunday along with milder temperatures.

Unseasonably mild on Monday ahead of a cold front that will likely give us showers in the afternoon and night.

Cooler weather and mainly dry the rest of the week, Friday is expected to be the coldest day with highs only in the 40s and lows below freezing in most of the area.

Skies are mostly clear early on this Friday morning although some inland areas have some patchy fog, temperatures once again are unseasonably mild with readings ranging from the upper 50s in the Clifton area down to around 50 further inland, winds are mainly calm.

Today we will have a repeat of yesterday with quite mild conditions ahead of a cold front that will pass east of us by this evening.

Cooler on Saturday as high pressure builds from Canada, there will be a brisk onshore wind.

A warm front will approach the area Sunday morning giving us some light rain Sunday morning, temperatures during the day will be milder.

Monday will be another unseasonably mild day but another cold front will likely give us some rain late Monday, the front will be followed by much cooler air that should last most of next week.
