Skies this morning at daybreak are mostly cloudy with temperatures ranging from the low 30s in the Clifton area to the upper 20s further inland.

Today will be the last mild day for quite some time with temperatures reaching the mid 40s, skies will be partly sunny.

An Arctic cold front will come through tonight dropping with temperatures falling to the teens by Tuesday morning, there may be some snow flurries with the front.

What a difference a day makes!  All the computer models now strengthen a low pressure just offshore and give us accumulating snow beginning late Tuesday morning and continuing Tuesday night before tapering off early Wednesday morning.  Accumulations will range from 3-7 inches with lesser amounts across inland areas of Northwest New Jersey and the Poconos.  It will also be very cold with highs only in the low 20s so expect some blowing and drifting snow.

Skies will clear on Wednesday but still be bitterly cold.

The very cold weather will extend into Friday, with a slight chance of some snow showers on Thursday.

Somewhat milder on the weekend but another cold front will approach on Sunday that may give us a chance of snow showers.

Well it is going to be Denver vs Seattle in the Super “Bowl”.  At the this time yesterday the computer model showed quite mild temperatures, now it is indicating temperatures in the 30s with a chance of rain or snow..  Of course this forecast will probably change many times in the next few days..

Tonight – Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of flurries, low in the upper teens.

Tuesday snow developing by noon and continuing at night, 3-7 inches expected, high only in the low 20s.

Wednesday – Light snow ending before dawn, very cold, high only near 20.

Thursday – Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of snow showers, high in the mid 20s.

Friday – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 20s.

Saturday – Mostly cloudy, high in the mid 30s.

Sunday – Partly sunny with a chance of snow showers, high in the mid-upper 30s.

Marine Forecast: Small craft advisory in effect for westerly winds to 30 knots, seas 4-6 feet.

Gale watch posted for Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon.

Cloudy skies at daybreak this morning, temperatures are in the low 20s in the Clifton area with some upper teens in the normally colder areas to our north and west.  Some flurries are occurring but unlike yesterday’s surprise 1″ accumulation with even a rare clasp of thunder we should have no accumulation except for higher elevations of the Poconos.

After morning cloudy skies today will become mostly sunny with highs reaching the 40 degree mark.

Monday an Arctic cold front will be approaching the area but ahead of the front we will have one more day in the 40s with partly sunny conditions.

The Arctic front will pass through on Monday night followed by a very cold airmass that will last the rest of the week before slightly moderating by next weekend.  No significant storms are in sight but we may have some snow showers especially on Tuesday and again on Thursday.

The computer models are now in range for Super Bowl Sunday and as of now it shows a warmup for the big game with highs in the upper 40s, that can and probably will change before then, I will keep you posted…

Skies are cloudy early this morning, there has been some rain or snow showers in the area, with mainly light snow giving a coating to our north and west.

Today skies will become partly sunny with seasonably cool temperatures, with highs near 40.

After a chilly start Sunday morning readings again reach near 40 with mostly cloudy skies.

Monday will still be seasonably mild with highs in the low 40s but an Arctic cold front will move through on Monday night with much colder air by early Tuesday morning.

Arctic air will be with us for most of the upcoming week with lows near 10 and highs in the 20s.  There may be some flurries around but most of the week will be dry.  The European computer model does indicate a possible coastal low that would give us some significant snow Wednesday night into Thursday while the other models show no snow for our area so at this time I will keep the forecast dry since the European model has not been performing too well this winter.

Under clear skies early this morning temperatures have fallen to the mid 20s in the Clifton area to around 20 in some of the colder locations inland.

Today will be mostly sunny and temperatures will rise quickly reaching the mid to upper 40s by this afternoon.

Increasing cloudiness tonight with a good chance of light rain or snow toward Saturday morning, snow will be more likely inland across Sussex County and the Poconos where 1-3 inches my accumulate, little or no accumulation is expected in the Clifton area.

Skies will clear later on Saturday with highs near the 40 degree mark.

Sunday will be mostly cloudy with temperatures in the upper 30s.

Monday will remain dry with highs near 40.

An Arctic cold front will move through Monday night with much colder weather Tuesday through next Friday with highs mostly only in the 20s and lows near 10 degrees.  At this time most of next week will remain dry.

Today we will have cloudy skies this morning with just a chance of morning light rain showers in the Clifton area, skies will slowly become partly sunny this afternoon.

Friday will be a dry day with seasonably mild temperatures but another weak disturbance may cause some snow showers late at night..

Early snow showers may give us a coating of snow early Saturday morning then we will have clearing with seasonable temperatures.

Mostly cloudy on Sunday with another chance of snow showers with continued seasonable temperatures.

Dry and seasonable mild on Monday.

An Arctic front will cross the area Monday night or Tuesday morning ushering back much colder air for the middle of next week along with a chance of snow.

Longer range it appears that a cold and possibly stormy period will be with us later next week through the end of the month.
