After the warm weather yesterday today will be much cooler as high pressure builds into the area from the Great Lakes. We will have a partly sunny day and it will be breezy with some gusts to 25 mph. With low humidity and the winds there is a threat of some brush fires.

High pressure will be in our area for the weekend with mostly sunny skies both days and seasonably cool temperatures.

A rather dry stretch of weather is expected next week with temperatures moderating through the week, Monday should be in the 60s, the 70s Tuesday and Wednesday and the 80s Thursday and Friday.

A warm front will move to our north this morning and we will have partial clearing with rapidly rising temperatures with readings reaching the low 80s by this afternoon. A cold front will cause showers and thunderstorms later this afternoon into this evening.

The front will move well offshore on Friday as high pressure builds from the Great Lakes and the day will be partly sunny, breezy and cooler.

Dry weather with seasonably cool temperatures Saturday into Easter Sunday.

High pressure offshore will give us a mainly southerly flow of quite mild air along with mostly sunny skies and light winds today, highs will be mainly in the low 70s.

A weak cold front will sag to our south on Wednesday and we will have an onshore flow which will give us mainly cloudy skies with some drizzle and cooler temperatures.

The front will move to our north as a warm front on Thursday and it will be unseasonably warm with highs approaching the 80 degree mark. A stronger cold front will cross the area Thursday evening preceded by showers and thunderstorms.

CLIFTON’S CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR MARCH 2023 (Records started in 1973)

March’s temperature averaged 42.5 degrees which was about 2 degrees above normal. The highest temperature 64 which was recorded on the 21st and 26th. The lowest temperature was 26 degrees on the 20th (this was the first time in March that the temperature failed to drop 25 degrees or lower.

Precipitation totaled 3.88″ which was slightly below normal.

Snowfall was again below normal with 1.9″ accumulating. Total season’s snowfall is at 8.4″ which is the second lowest total since 1973. the lowest was 8.0″ recorded during the 2001-2002 season.
