Today will be a mostly cloudy day with temperatures continuing to be slightly below normal and the humidity to be comfortable.

A warm front is expected to cross the area Wednesday morning with a chance of showers, it will become warmer and more humid. A cold front is expected to move through our area Wednesday night possibly accompanied by showers and thunderstorms.

Thursday should be a dry and warm day with mostly sunny skies.

Another frontal system will cause a chance of showers late Thursday night into Saturday, temperatures will be warm with higher humidity.

CLIFTON’ CLIMATE SUMMARY FOR MAY 2020!

It was a cool May with temperatures averaging 1.7 degrees below normal. Highest temperature 87 – 15th Lowest temperature 32 – 9th (tied for coldest May temperature.

May was also drier than normal with 2.65 inches accumulating. This month was only the 2nd time in 47 years that May had no thunderstorms.

There was a trace of snow on May 9th which tied for the latest snow on record.

A chilly start to June under clear skies early on this Monday morning and temperatures range from 45 in Clifton down to 33 at Walpack, winds are mainly calm. These readings are near record lows for the date and is the coldest June temperature since 2009.

Today will be another cool day as high pressure dominates our weather, the day should start off mostly clear but we should see some clouds increase this afternoon.

Tuesday will be a mostly cloudy day as a warm front approaches our area, temperatures will continue to be slightly below normal. There is a chance of showers later at night as the warm front comes closer to our area.

Warmer and becoming more humid Wednesday and Thursday with a good chance of shower and thunderstorm activity.

Friday should be mainly dry and warm.

High pressure will be building into our area from the upper mid-west today which will give us a sunny and pleasant day, it will be a little breezy, temperatures will be seasonably cool and the humidity will be low.

Still another pleasant day on Monday, early morning temperatures may dip into the 40s but rise to the low 70s during the day, skies will be mostly clear.

A weak frontal system will give us a chance of showers Tuesday afternoon and evening.

High pressure off the coast along with a slow moving cold front approaching from the west will give us a southerly flow of warm and humid air today. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms but we should also see some breaks of sunshine. Showers and thunderstorms are more likely tonight as the front comes closer. Note that if have some rain today it will be the 9th Friday in a row that we had some measurable precipitation.

The front will come through Saturday morning with a shower possible in the morning followed by clearing and becoming much less humid by evening.

Very pleasant late spring weather Sunday through the day on Tuesday with seasonably cool temperatures and very low humidity.
