Strong high pressure over New England along with Tropical Storm Arthur well off the Carolina coast will combine to give our area a breezy day today but skies will be mostly sunny, it will be cooler than normal especially along our coastal areas.

Plenty of sunshine and continued breezy and cool on Wednesday.

High pressure will remain in control of our weather on Thursday with continued mostly sunny skies but there will be less wind.

Milder weather Friday through the holiday weekend, conditions will be mainly dry but a weak low pressure area may give our area some showers late Friday night into Saturday.

What a difference in the forecast for this week as a few days ago it looked like our area would receive several inches of rain, but most if not all of the rain will stay to our south and this week will mainly stay rain free.

High pressure to our north will give us a cool onshore flow of dry air today, skies will be mostly cloudy.

Cool and dry weather will continue tomorrow through Thursday. Winds will pick up, especially coastal areas, as Tropical Storm Arthur moves off the Carolina coast.

Somewhat milder Friday through the weekend but there is a chance of showers Friday into Saturday.

High pressure off the New England coast will give us an onshore flow of cooler air today, skies will be partly sunny.

Big changes in the forecast as now high pressure is expected to be strong enough to keep precipitation from reaching the area as an upper level low will remain well to our southwest as newly formed Tropical Storm Arthur moves off the Carolina coast and then moves east well out to sea. Unsettled weather is then expected with rain chances from late Wednesday night through Saturday. Temperatures will be below normal with an onshore flow Monday through Thursday but rise to near normal Friday and Saturday.

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Saturday morning and there are some light rain showers moving through the area. Temperatures are quite mild with readings ranging from the low 60s in Clifton down to the mid 50s further inland, winds are light westerly.

A cold front that caused only some light showers overnight is moving offshore and we should have mostly sunny skies and high temperatures well up into the 70’s with lower humidity than yesterday.

As the high pressure moves off the New England coast an onshore flow will develop on Sunday with cooler temperatures and partly sunny skies.

A rainy pattern is expected much of next week as an upper level low is expected to be just to our west and a coastal low, that may become tropical storm Arthur, moves slowly up the coast. The interaction of these lows will determine how much rain will fall but there is a chance of several inches of rain Monday night into Tuesday.

The upper level low will meander in our area most of the rest of next week giving us a chance of rain showers Wednesday through Friday. Temperatures will be below normal Wednesday and Thursday and near normal on Friday.

At this point the holiday weekend looks to be seasonably warm with mainly dry conditions.

A warm front is moving through the area this morning with some light rain in parts of the area. A southwest flow of warm and even somewhat humid air will be with us today with readings reaching the 80s. A cold front will approach the area this afternoon and pass through tonight. Some strong to possibly severe thunderstorms are likely later this afternoon and tonight.

After a chance of a shower early Saturday it will become mostly sunny and pleasantly warm with lower humidity.

Sunday will be cooler as high pressure builds over New England and we will have an onshore flow. There is a chance of showers but most of the day will be dry.

Unsettled weather much of next week as an upper level low moves slowly through the area giving area a chance of showers. High temperatures will be below normal but low temperatures will be near normal.

A subtropical storm is expected to develop over the Bahamas this weekend and moves slowly off the North Carolina coast and then move further offshore and should not affect our weather.
