Skies have become cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and it is milder that the last few mornings with temperatures ranging from the mid 60s in Clifton down to around 60 further inland, winds are mainly calm

Today will be a cloudy day and it will become more humid as a weak front approaches our area. There is a chance of showers mainly this afternoon and evening.

Dry and warm conditions Thursday and Friday as high pressure build into the area, highs will be in the 80s but with lower humidity.

At the present time the Labor Day weekend looks to be mainly dry except for a low chance of showers Monday night. High temperatures will be slightly below normal with comfortable humidity.

THE TROPICS:

Newly named Tropical Storm Erin is off the North Carolina coast with top winds to 40 mph, Erin is expected to remain well off our coast but may cause some heavy rain across eastern Long Island.

Meanwhile Tropical Storm Dorian has intensified overnight with top winds to 60 mph as it approaches Puerto Rico today. Dorian may become a major hurricane as it moves into the Bahamas and approaches Florida.

High pressure over the Canadian maritime region will give us a light onshore flow of continued cool and dry air today along with mostly sunny skies.

Warmer and more humid air will move into the area on Wednesday along with a chance of showers as a cold front moves toward our area.

As we head into the holiday weekend it appears now that Saturday and Sunday will be seasonably cool with low humidity. There will be a chance of showers on Labor Day.
