Cool today with some light rain this morning! Mostly sunny and a little milder on Sunday!

Skies have become cloudy early on this Saturday morning and temperatures have fallen to the upper 40s in Clifton down to the mid 40s further inland, winds are mainly calm.  The 47 degrees that I recorded in Clifton is the lowest temperature since May 19th.

A weak disturbance will give us some light rain this morning followed by clearing skies this afternoon, it will be chilly with most highs in the 50s.

Tonight will be chilly with readings ranging from the low 40s in Clifton to some 30s further inland, a frost advisory is in effect for northwest New Jersey and the Poconos.

Plenty of sunshine on Sunday as high pressure builds over the area, temperatures will be slightly milder and it will be a very pleasant fall day.

Milder on Monday and we will have a good chance of showers as a cold front moves through the area.

Mainly cool and dry weather Tuesday through Friday.

Much cooler today and breezy! Seasonably cool weekend with a chance of light rain tomorrow morning!


Good morning everyone!

Rain is falling over the area early this Friday morning and temperatures range from the low 60s in Clifton down to the mid 50s further inland, winds are brisk out of the northwest.

The rain will be ending shortly as the remains of Tropical Storm Michael moves further out to sea.  Overnight we only had about a tenth of an inch of rain while down at the Jersey Shore up to 5 inches have fallen due to the storm.   Here in Clifton yesterday we recorded .93 inches of rainfall.

Today we should see clearing and some sunshine but temperatures will not rise much from the present readings with highs in the 60s, winds will be brisk especially this morning as Michael moves away from our area.   Tonight temperatures will fall into the 50s this evening and into the 40s for the first time this season by Saturday morning.

A weak disturbance will give us a chance of light rain Saturday morning followed by clearing in the afternoon temperatures will be cool.

Sunday will be a pleasant fall day with seasonably cool temperatures and plenty of sunshine.

A frontal system may give us some showers Monday followed by high pressure for Tuesday through Thursday,  temperatures will be a little above normal on Monday but fall to below seasonable norms Tuesday through the end of the week as fall weather has finally arrived.

Skies are cloudy early on this Thursday morning and temperatures continue to be unseasonably warm with readings ranging from the low 70s in Clifton down to the mid 60s further inland, these readings this morning are nearly 25 degrees above normal.  The humidity is high and there is a slight southerly wind.

A front approaching from the west along with the remnants of Tropical Storm Michael will cause heavy rain showers today and into tonight, a flash flood watch is in effect.  Rainfall totals will average between 2-3 inches with some higher amounts possible.

The front along with the remains of Michael will move well offshore on Friday, there will be a chance of an early morning shower then sunshine returns but it will be breezy and much cooler, temperatures will be near normal which will feel rather chilly after the warm weather we have experienced so far this month.

The weekend will be seasonably cool, there is a low chance of light showers Saturday morning otherwise it will be dry with some sunshine especially on Sunday.

Unsettled weather with near normal temperatures early next week with a chance of showers Monday and Tuesday, temperatures will continue to be cool.

Skies are mostly cloudy early on this Wednesday morning and it is once again unseasonably warm with temperatures ranging from around 70 in Clifton down to the mid 60s further inland, winds are mainly calm and the humidity is high.

Today will be quite warm and humid as high pressure offshore gives us a southerly flow, temperatures will climb to near 80 and with dew points reaching 70 it will feel rather uncomfortable.

A frontal to our west along with the moisture from the remnants of Hurricane Michael will give us rain heavy at times on Thursday, it will continue to be warm and humid.  Rainfall amounts will average between 1 and 1 1/2 inches.

The front along with the remnants of the hurricane will move offshore and we will have a windy day along with much lower temperatures and humidity on Friday.

The weekend will be much cooler and mainly dry, there is a low chance of a shower on Saturday.  It will be quite chilly Saturday night with temperatures falling to the low 40s in Clifton down to the 30s inland where there may be some frost.

Another front will give us a chance of showers early next week along with near seasonable fall like tempertures.

Skies are cloudy with some drizzle and fog across the area early on this Tuesday morning, temperatures range mostly from the low to mid 60s, winds are mainly calm.

Today will be a mainly cloudy day again but it will be warmer and humid with dew points reaching the oppressive low 70s, after morning drizzle and fog we should clear out somewhat and may even see some sunshine this afternoon, high temperatures will reach to near 80 degrees.  A warm front will be crossing the area and the winds should become south-southwest which will bring in the warmer weather.

Quite warm and humid on Wednesday along with considerable cloudiness.

A cold front will approach the area on Thursday and along with moisture from the remnants of Hurricane Michael will result in rain that may be heavy at times, it will continue to be warm and humid.

Finally some fall like weather Friday through the weekend as temperatures will be around or slightly below normal with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s which will feel quite chilly after the warm weather we have had the last few weeks.

TROPICAL:   Hurricane Michael with top winds of 90 mph is expected to become a major category 3 hurricane and hit the Panama City area of Florida tomorrow.
