Cloudy and cooler today with some drizzle! Warmer and more humid again Tuesday and Wednesday!


Good morning everyone!

Skies have become cloudy early on this Monday morning and temperatures are quite mild for this time of year with readings ranging from the upper 60s in Clifton down to the upper 50s further inland, winds are light northerly.

A cold front has moved to our south and today will be cooler with an onshore flow.  Skies should stay cloudy with some periods of drizzle.  Temperatures will rise little from our present readings with highs near 70.

The front will return as a warm front by Tuesday morning and it will once again become unseasonably warm and humid both Tuesday and Wednesday but we should remain dry.

Rain some of it possibly heavy Thursday as a front approaches our area along with some possible moisture from the reminits of Tropical Storm Michael.  Michael is expected to come ashore near the Florida panhandle as a Category 2 hurricane on Wednesday and then move off the Virginia coast and out to sea.

Finally some cool fall weather is expected Friday through at least the weekend.  Highs will be only near 60 with overnight lows in the 40s.

TUESDAY – OCT 9 – Mostly cloudy with patchy drizzle in the morning then becoming partly sunny warmer and more humid, high near 80.

WEDNESDAY – OCT 10 – Partly sunny, high near 80.  Chance of showers after midnight.

THURSDAY – OCT 11 – Cloudy with showers and possibly a thunderstorm, high in the upper 70s.

FRIDAY – OCT 12 – Mostly sunny and cooler, high in the mid 60s.

SATURDAY – OCT 13 – Mostly sunny, high near 60.

SUNDAY – OCT 14 – Mostly sunny, high in the low 60s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  TODAY – Easterly winds to 14 knots, seas 2-3 feet.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Tuesday into the day on Wednesday;  small craft advisories likely Wednesday night through Friday.

Good morning everyone!

Cloudy skies prevail early on this Sunday morning and temperatures are mild with readings mainly in the mid to upper 60s,  these temperatures are nearly 20 degrees above normal.  There may be some lingering drizzle and some patchy fog in parts of the area as the humidity is high, winds are light southerly.

Today will be a mostly cloudy to cloudy day but temperatures should rise to at least the upper 70s and with a little late day sunshine some temperatures in the low 80s are possible.  It will be humid with dew points in the upper 60s.

A weak backdoor cold front will move into the area on Monday and we should have an onshore flow of cooler air along with continued mostly cloudy skies.

Warmer again Tuesday and Wednesday and we should remain dry except for a chance of showers Wednesday night.

A cold front approaching from the west along with the possible remnants of soon to be Tropical Storm Michael may cause rain on Thursday which could be heavy at times.  Michael is expected to become a hurricane as it moves toward the Florida panhandle.

Cooler Friday and especially Saturday as high pressure builds in from the Great Lakes.

Good morning everyone!

Skies are cloudy early on this Saturday morning and temperatures range from the low 60s in Clifton down to the middle 50s further inland, these readings are about 10 degrees above normal.

Mainly cloudy today with only a few breaks of sun, temperatures will be similar to yesterday with highs mostly in the upper 60s.

A warm front will move to our north tomorrow morning and it will be warmer with high temperatures approaching 80 degrees along with higher humidity. There is a low chance of a shower at night.

A little cooler on Monday as a backdoor cold front moves to our south but temperatures should remain above normal, there is still a low chance of an afternoon shower.

Quite warm Tuesday through Thursday as a high pressure ridge along the coast gives us a southwesterly flow.  A cold front may cross the area late in the day on Thursday possibly accompanied by showers and thunderstorms into Friday morning.

Cooler on Friday along with a chance of lingering showers.

Skies have become mostly clear early on this Friday morning and temperatures range from around 60 in Clifton down to some upper 40s further inland, winds are from the north around  10 mph.

A cold front came through overnight and we will have a northerly flow of cooler and drier air today along with plenty of sunshine, temperatures will only climb into the 60s as high pressure builds in from the north.

Still cool and dry on Saturday but it will be warmer on Sunday as the high pressure moves off the coast and a southwest flow of air moves into our area, we should have plenty of sunshine both days of the weekend.

Unseasonably warm and mainly dry most of next week as the ridge of high pressure will dominate our weather.  A cold front approaching our area may cause some showers on Thursday.

Skies are mostly clear early on this Thursday morning and temperatures range from the upper 50s in Clifton down to the upper 40s further inland, there is again some patchy fog in some inland valleys as the humidity is high.

Today will be a partly sunny and warm day as temperatures rise to near 80 degrees, a weak cold front may touch off a shower or thunderstorms this afternoon and evening but this activity will be much more scattered and weaker than the storms we had on Tuesday.

Friday and Saturday will be cooler and dry as high pressure builds in from the north, high temperatures will be in the upper 60s which is near normal for this time of year.

Warmer and more humid weather but with dry conditions Sunday through at least the middle of next week as a strong high pressure ridge builds offshore.
