FRIDAY  JUNE 23, 2017  5:55 A.M.

Skies are mostly cloudy to cloudy over the area early on this Friday morning and temperatures are quite warm with readings ranging from the upper 70s in the Clifton area to the mid 60s in some colder inland spots. The humidity is high with dew points near 70 degrees, winds are mainly calm.

Today we will have a warm and humid day with showers and thunderstorms mainly this morning, temperatures will be in the 80s and dew points will be in the very uncomfortable low 70s.  There may be a lull in the precipitation this afternoon and early evening, but as a front approaches the area with some of the moisture from ex-tropical storm Cindy, there will be heavy rain from late tonight until around noon on Saturday.

After the rain Saturday morning we should see clearing in the afternoon, the humidity will drop but the temperatures will warm to near the 90 degree mark.

Very pleasant early summer weather on Sunday which should extend into the middle of next week as high pressure builds into the area, temperatures will be slightly below normal.  Most of next week looks to be dry there will be a low chance of showers on Tuesday.

THURSDAY  JUNE 22, 2017  5:49 A.M.

We have mostly clear skies early on this Thursday morning and temperatures range from the mid 60s in the Clifton area to the mid 50s in some of the outlying suburbs, winds are mainly calm and the humidity is low.

Today weak high pressure will give us a mostly sunny day with warm temperatures, humidity will start off low but increase by this evening.

A frontal system approaching the area on Friday will give us a chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day with possible heavy rain continuing into at least Saturday morning, some of the moisture from the remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy may enhance the rainfall.

Sunday will be a nice day with lower humidity and plenty of sunshine.

Mainly dry conditions through the middle of next week with comfortable humidity and temperatures slightly below normal, however there is a low chance of shower activity late Monday into Tuesday.

Today we should have mostly sunny skies; there is a low chance of a pop up thunderstorm this afternoon, but most places will stay dry.

Pleasantly warm and dry on Thursday.

A warm front approaching the area on Friday will give us a chance of showers and thunderstorms along with warmer and more humid air.

A cold front will give us a chance of a shower on Saturday followed by mostly sunny skies on Sunday along with seasonably warm temperatures.

Another weak cold front may give us a shower on Monday.

A cold front will cross the area this morning followed by much less humid air but it will stay quite warm with temperatures reaching well up into the 80s, winds will be rather gusty this afternoon.

Pleasantly warm weather for Wednesday and Thursday with plenty of sunshine both days, humidity will continue to be on the low side.

A warm front will cross the area on Friday bringing warm and more humid air into the region along with a chance of showers.

A cold front will cross the area on Saturday morning with showers, the front will be followed by improving weather for later on Saturday.

Pleasant weather again for Sunday and Monday.

Strong to severe thunderstorms with flooding rains likely late this afternoon and evening!


MONDAY  JUNE 19, 2017  5:51 A.M.

Skies are mostly clear early on this Monday morning and it is very warm outside already with temperatures ranging from the upper 70s in the Clifton area to the low 70s further inland.  The humidity is very high with dew points in the oppressive 70s, winds are light southerly.

A cold front approaching from the west will give our area heavy rain with strong to severe thunderstorms from late this afternoon into this evening. Rainfall should average 1-2 inches with some higher amounts possible.  Some thunderstorms may be accompanied by damaging winds and some hail.   A flash flood watch is in effect as some areas may receive more than an inch of rain per hour.

The front will cross the area tomorrow morning with some lingering showers possible after midnight.  Skies will become partly sunny tomorrow afternoon; it still will be warm but much less humid.

Wednesday and Thursday should be pleasant summer days with warm temperatures and comfortable humidity.

Unsettled weather Friday through the weekend, temperatures will be warm and there will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms each day.
