Excellent weather for the weekend as the intense heat wave has been broken!


Thunderstorms rolled through the area yesterday ending the heat wave, some of these storms especially in Ocean County caused flooding rains, damaging winds and large hail. Here in Clifton we only received less than a quarter inch of rain.

Today will be mostly sunny and warm but much less humid with a high in the upper 80s.

Tonight clear with a low in the low 60s.

Sunny and warm and Sunday with highs in the mid 80s, increasing cloudiness by evening with showers and thunderstorms late at night.

Monday showers and thunderstorms likely, highs in the upper 70s.

Tuesday through Thursday, comfortable temperatures with plenty of daytime sunshine, highs in the upper 70s to near 80.

Friday, a bit warmer, still mostly sunny with highs in the low to mid 80s.

No signs for another heat wave as we had for at least the next two weeks.

Thunderstorms to end the heat wave, pleasant weekend ahead!


Another very warm and humid start to the day, overnight lows again were in the upper 70s. There will be more clouds to “lower” the high temperatures a couple of degrees from the last two days to the low to mid 90s. A cold front that will end this intense heat wave will be coming through early Saturday morning, this front will cause thunderstorms to develop mainly after 2PM, some of these storms could cause strong gusty winds, frequent lightning and very heavy rain.

Tonight thunderstorms likely until about 9PM then a chance of showers into early Saturday morning, lows not as high as the last couple of days but still a warm 70 degrees.

Saturday, becoming mostly sunny, warm but less humid with a high in the upper 80s.

Sunday, sunny with a high in the low to mid 80s.

As we start the work week there will be a chance of showers Monday with highs in the upper 70s.

Tuesday through Thursday, partly to mostly sunny and comfortable with highs only in the mid to the upper 70s.

Warmer by next weekend.

100 degrees today, relief by the weekend!


Yesterday the high temperatures were in the upper 90s with some records broken, today should be even a couple of degrees hotter as we are starting out this morning quite warm with overnight lows that did not go much below 80. With plenty of sunshine once again, 100 degrees is well within reach..

Tonight partly cloudy, warm and humid with lows in the mid 70s.

Friday a cold front will be approaching the area with thunderstorms likely by mid-afternoon that will continue into the evening, still hot , with highs in the mid 90s.

Saturday after early morning showers it will become mostly sunny and less humid, highs in the mid-upper 80s.

Sunday, mostly sunny with highs again in the mid-upper 80s.

Monday a stronger cold front will be moving through giving us a chance of more thunderstorms, mostly cloudy with a high near 80 degrees.

Tuesday through Thursday next week looks cool and comfortable with highs not getting out of the 70s.

High heat for the arrival of the summer solstice!


Summer arrives this evening at 7:09PM and the next two days we may have the hottest temperatures of the entire summer!

Today we will have sunny skies with highs in the upper 90s and it will be humid.

Tonight will be mostly clear with lows only dropping to the mid-70s.

Thursday may even be a couple of degrees warmer, sunny and humid with a high around 100!

A cold front will be crossing the area late Friday night, it will be mostly cloudy and continued humid with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, highs in the low 90s.

Saturday we will have mostly sunny skies and a high in the upper 80s.

Sunday, partly sunny with a chance of showers into the evening, highs in the lower 80s.

Looking well ahead into next week, look for at or below normal temperatures with no signs now of another heat wave…

Warmer air moving in, intense heat Wednesday and Thursday!


Lots of clouds in the area this morning as a warm front is moving through and despite the mostly cloudy conditions temperatures will rise into the low 80s with higher humidity.

Tonight will be partly to mostly cloudy and muggy with lows only dropping to near 70 degrees.

Intense heat tomorrow and Thursday with highs both days in the upper 90s with sunny skies.

Friday will still be hot with a high near 90 but a cold front will be crossing the area sometime late in the day and with this front there will be a chance of thunderstorms.

Saturday will be cooler with lower humidity and plenty of sunshine, highs in the mid 80s.

Sunday, increasing cloudiness, highs in the low 80s.

Sunday night into early Monday, cloudy with a chance of showers.
