A coastal low pressure area will be moving up the coast today giving us more rain which will likely be heavy at times especially this afternoon and tonight. Winds will increase with easterly gusts to above 40 mph possible and a wind advisory will be in effect. Also a flood watch is in effect for rainfall amounts of 2-3″ likely with higher amounts possible. There may even a few rumbles of thunder.

The low pressure will slowly move off the New England coast on Thursday and wrap around moisture will cause showers possible mixed with snow mainly across higher elevations to our north and west.

The low pressure will only slowly move further away on Friday, we may see some clearing during the day but there still will be a low chance of some showers.

Finally dry weather is likely Saturday through early next week. Temperatures will be slightly below normal on Saturday, near normal on Sunday and then rise to above normal readings early next week.

The weather for the solar eclipse still looks good but there may be some high broken clouds at times.

FRIDAY – APRIL 5 – Partly sunny in the morning then becoming mostly cloudy in the afternoon with a slight chance of a shower, highs near 50.

The average temperature for the month was 46.1 degrees and was the 5th warmest March since 1973. The highest temperature was 76 degrees on the 14th and the lowest was 24 degrees set on the 1st and again on the 22nd. Rainfall was well above normal also with 9.27″ recorded which was the 4th wettest since 1973. Snowfall was only a trace.

A low pressure moving along a stationary front to our south will give us cloudy skies with rain developing this morning and continuing through tonight. With the clouds and onshore winds, high temperatures will mainly be in the 40s. Rainfall amounts of 1″ expected through tonight.

An even stronger coastal low pressure will develop and move up the coast giving us more rain that may be heavy at times. Winds will be stronger with gusts to above 35 mph possible from the east. Highs again will only be in the 40s. Another 1 1/2″ of rain expected.

Rain is still likely on Thursday as the coastal low moves off the New England coast and some wrap around moisture in our area, however the higher elevations to our north and west may have some snow.

Mainly dry weather Friday through next Monday with a slow moderation in temperatures. The forecast still looks mostly sunny for the solar eclipse on Monday afternoon.

Today will be cloudy and not as mild as a stationary front to our south along with weak low pressure moving along the front will give us a chance of showers later this morning and ending by early this afternoon. Rainfall amounts will average less than 1/10th of an inch.

After a brief break rain will again develop Tuesday morning and continue through Wednesday night with rain possible heavy at times especially on Wednesday as a stronger low pressure system moves along the front to our south. Rainfall amounts will average between 1-3 inches.

Showers will continue on Thursday as an upper level low moves through the area. Some higher elevations to our north and west may have snow mixed in with the rain.

Finally we dry out on Friday as high pressure builds into the area but it will remain cool with gusty winds.

At this point the weekend looks dry with a slow moderation in temperatures as high pressure dominates our weather.

Weak high pressure will give us a very nice Easter Sunday with plenty of sunshine, lighter winds and mild temperatures with highs near 60.

A low pressure area along a stationary front to our south will give us rain mainly from around 5 a.m. Monday morning through 2 p.m. Monday afternoon. High temperatures will be lower with readings around 50.

After a brief break in the rain Monday afternoon and night a stronger low pressure area will give us rain possibly heavy from before dawn on Tuesday through Wednesday night. Highs both days will only be in the 40s.

The low pressure will then move offshore but there still may be some showers on Thursday.

Dry weather expected on Friday but it will be breezy with cool temperatures continuing.

At this point the weekend looks to be dry with moderating temperatures that should extend into next Monday providing excellent weather for the solar eclipse.

Today we will start off mostly sunny but we should see an increase in clouds this afternoon as a weak area of low pressure approaches our area. Some showers are likely mainly between 8 p.m. tonight through 2 a.m. Sunday morning.

Very nice weather for Easter Sunday with mostly sunny skies with highs near 60 degrees.

Rather cool and damp weather much of next week as a series of low pressure systems will move along a stationary front to our south. Most high temperatures will only be in the 40s.

The chances of rain should end by Thursday afternoon and Friday looks to be a little milder but breezy.

Dry weather is becoming more likely with milder temperatures next weekend that should extend into next Monday for the solar eclipse.
