Skies are mainly cloudy early on this Monday morning, temperatures range from 73 in Clifton down to 66 at Walpack. There are some showers moving into western parts of the state. Winds are mainly calm and the humidity is high with dew points near 70.

A warm front moving to our north will give us a chance of showers this morning then there may be a break before showers and thunderstorms become more likely later this afternoon and tonight as a cold front moves through our area. Southwest winds will increase with some 20-25 mph gusts. The humidity will be high with dew points in the low 70s.

A heatwave is expected Tuesday through the weekend with highs in the 90s each day. There is a chance of showers on Thursday and again on Sunday as some weak fronts move through our area. The humidity will be moderate Tuesday and Wednesday, quite high on Thursday and then slightly lower dew points Friday into the weekend.

Showers yesterday and early this morning only gave the Clifton area .06″ of rain while some areas had heavy rain with over an inch with floods especially over the Wood Ridge and Carlstadt area causing Route 17 to be closed in the early afternoon.

Today will be a partly sunny and humid day as a warm front will be just to our south, there is a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms but most of the time it will be dry.

The warm front will move to our north Monday morning and the day will be mostly cloudy and quite humid with showers and thunderstorms likely as a weak cold front moves through the area Monday night. Some heavy rain is possible. Dew points will be mainly in the low 70s.

A heatwave is expected Tuesday through at least the beginning of next weekend with high temperatures in the 90s. A weak cold front may give us showers on Thursday followed by slightly less humid air Friday and Saturday.
