Cloudy, breezy and humid today with showers and thunderstorms likely! Heatwave expected Tuesday through the weekend with a chance of showers Thursday and again on Sunday!

Skies are mainly cloudy early on this Monday morning, temperatures range from 73 in Clifton down to 66 at Walpack. There are some showers moving into western parts of the state. Winds are mainly calm and the humidity is high with dew points near 70.

A warm front moving to our north will give us a chance of showers this morning then there may be a break before showers and thunderstorms become more likely later this afternoon and tonight as a cold front moves through our area. Southwest winds will increase with some 20-25 mph gusts. The humidity will be high with dew points in the low 70s.

A heatwave is expected Tuesday through the weekend with highs in the 90s each day. There is a chance of showers on Thursday and again on Sunday as some weak fronts move through our area. The humidity will be moderate Tuesday and Wednesday, quite high on Thursday and then slightly lower dew points Friday into the weekend.

THURSDAY – JUL 21 – Partly sunny, very hot and humid with a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, high in the upper 90s.

FRIDAY – JUL 22 – Sunny, high in the mid 90s.

SATURDAY – JUL 23 – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 90s.

SUNDAY – JUL 24 – Partly sunny with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, high in the low 90s.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect valid between 2 p.m. this afternoon through 8 a.m. Tuesday morning for southerly winds gusting to 25 knots, seas 4-6 feet. Belmar’s ocean temperature is 74 degrees.

OUTLOOK – No advisories expected Tuesday and Wednesday; possible advisories on Thursday; no advisories expected on Friday.
