The low pressure that gave us the rain yesterday is moving offshore and we should see clearing this morning. It will become mostly sunny, however it will be windy and chilly with highs only in the 40s, and winds gusting to 35 mph will make it feel colder. Winds will diminish rapidly after sunset. Today may be the last day this month that the temperatures will be below normal.

Strong high pressure will give us very pleasant spring weather this weekend with plenty of sunshine both days, light winds and highs in the 50s.

Above normal temperatures are expected next week with the next chance of rain Wednesday night into Thursday.

After 17 days without any measurable precipitation, today we will get some well needed rainfall as a low pressure system to our southwest moves into our area. Rain should begin between 9-10 a.m. becoming moderate to heavy at times this afternoon and tonight and possibly changing to snow before ending mainly before daybreak on Friday. Rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches are likely. Snow accumulations should be 1-2 inches of higher terrain of northwest New Jersey and only a trace in the Clifton area.

We should see some sunshine by Friday afternoon but it will be cold and windy with gusts to 30 mph. Friday should be the coldest day for the rest of this month.

Dry with moderating temperatures over the weekend. After a cold start Saturday morning temperatures will rise to the low 50s on Saturday and then in the upper 50s on Sunday with plenty of sunshine both days.

Very pleasant spring weather is expected much of next week with mainly dry conditions, light winds and mild temperatures with highs each day near 60 degrees.

The low pressure that gave our area some flurries and sprinkles yesterday is moving offshore and weak high pressure will cause clearing, along with milder temperatures with highs near 50, which is near seasonable for this time of year.

Our first significant precipitation in over two weeks is expected with rain developing by Thursday afternoon and possibly ending briefly as snow Friday morning. No accumulation is expected here but the higher elevations of northwest New Jersey may pick up an inch or so. Total rainfall will be around 1 1/2 inches.

Dry weather for the weekend, temperatures will be slightly below normal on Saturday and slightly above normal on Sunday.

Mainly dry and mild spring weather most of next week with highs each day averaging near 60.

A weak area of low pressure will slide to our south today causing cloudy and cool conditions today with much less wind than yesterday. There is a low chance of some sprinkles or flurries tonight.

Wednesday will remain mostly cloudy but will milder temperatures as weak high pressure moves through our area.

A stronger low pressure area will give us our first significant precipitation in over two weeks with rain expected to develop Thursday afternoon and possibly ending briefly as snow on Friday. Rainfall amounts of an inch possible.

At this point the weekend looks to be dry with near normal temperatures on Saturday climbing to above normal on Sunday.

Mild Spring weather is likely much of next week.

A strong Arctic high pressure over the Great Lakes will build closer to our area today providing cold air, winds will gust to near 30 mph this morning and slowly diminish this afternoon. Despite plenty of sunshine high temperatures will struggle to reach the 40 degree mark. Also with the winds and very dry air a red flag warning continues in effect for the risk of brush fires, so watch your butts.

Tuesday will be chilly again with increasing cloudiness as a weak area of low pressure approaches our area. Some sprinkles or flurries are possible Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. During the day on Wednesday we will continue to have mostly cloudy skies but with milder temperatures.

A somewhat strong low pressure area on Thursday will give us a chance of rain that may end as snow Friday morning.

At this point the weekend looks to be dry, temperatures slightly below normal on Saturday and near normal on Sunday.

Looking further ahead next week looks to be rather mild with highs each day averaging near 60.
