Skies are mainly clear early on this Monday morning and temperatures are once again quite cool with readings ranging from 46 in Clifton to 31 degrees at Walpack. Winds are light from the north.

Another crisp and cool day despite plenty of sunshine as strong high pressure continues over the northeast part of the country.

Tomorrow will start off chilly but we should see a moderation in temperatures in the afternoon as highs reach the low 70s.

We have not had any measurable rain since September 10th and dry weather is expected the rest of the week into the weekend as high pressure moves to our south. Temperatures will rise to above normal readings by Wednesday and continue through next weekend.

MARINE FORECAST: A small craft advisory is in effect until 6 a.m Wednesday morning for northerly winds gusting to 30 knots, seas 7-10 feet.

OUTLOOK – Advisories expected to continue during the day on Wednesday; no advisories expected Thursday and Friday.

TROPICS: Hurricane Teddy is 165 miles southeast of Bermuda with top winds of 100 mph. Teddy is expected to move just east of Bermuda and move north into the Canadian Maritimes by Wednesday. High surf to continue along our coastal beaches through Wednesday with some minor coastal flooding expected.

The large high pressure area over the northeast will continue our sunny weather with cool temperatures today and on Monday.

Dry weather is expected the rest of the week. After a chilly Tuesday morning, temperatures will moderate to near normal temperatures Tuesday afternoon. Above normal temperatures are then expected Wednesday through at least the beginning of next weekend.

OUTLOOK – Advisories expected to continue for high seas Tuesday night through the day on Wednesday; no advisories expected Wednesday night through Thursday.

TROPICS: Hurricane Teddy is located 340 miles south-southeast of Bermuda with top winds of 115 mph. Teddy is expected to move just east of Bermuda and up to the Canadian Maritimes. High surf and swells are expected to continue along our coastal waters with minor to moderate coastal flooding and some beach erosion.

Strong high pressure will be over the northeast this weekend with plenty of sunshine both days and unseasonably cool temperatures. With clear skies tonight and Sunday night there may be some frost across northwestern part of the state.

Dry weather to continue most if not all of next week. Monday will still be unseasonably cool but become milder by Tuesday afternoon. It will become warmer Wednesday and Thursday with highs both days near 80. A weak cold front may bring slightly cooler weather on Friday.

OUTLOOK – Advisories likely to continue Monday night through Wednesday due to high seas and swells from Hurricane Teddy that is a major storm well out in the Atlantic.

TROPICS: Three storms were named yesterday and now we are in the Greek Alphabet with Tropical storm Beta off the Texas coast. The only storm that will indirectly affect our area is Hurricane Teddy with top winds of 125 mph. Teddy is expected to move near Bermuda and then into the Canadian Maritime region early next week. High swells with some coastal flooding is expected along our coast.

A cold front moved through our area overnight as the remains of Sally stays to our south. Skies should become mostly sunny but it will be breezy and cool day.

Unseasonably cool weather this weekend into early next week as a strong high pressure builds into the area. Temperatures will be more like October with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s through early next week.

Dry weather to continue through the end of next week and it will become warmer with highs near 80 Wednesday and Thursday.

TROPICS: Hurricane Teddy has top winds of 130 mph as it is approaching Bermuda. Waves and swells will affect our coastal areas by early next week.

Today should begin with mostly sunny skies although they will still be filtered by some high level smoke this morning. We should see an increase in actual clouds by this afternoon as the remains of Sally along with a cold front approaches our area. Temperatures will be a few degrees milder than yesterday.

The cold front and the remains of Sally will move offshore Friday followed by a brisk northerly flow of cooler air. There is a slight chance of a morning shower mainly to our south.

Fair, breezy with October like temperatures Saturday through early next week as a strong high over New England will dominate our weather.

Dry weather to continue with a slight warming trend by the middle of next week.
