A weak cold front came through dry overnight and we will have an increasingly brisk northwest wind of cooler air today, some gusts to 30 mph.

An extended period of dry weather will continue tomorrow through most of next week. It will be quite chilly Friday through Monday with a warming trend beginning on Tuesday with possible highs near 60 Wednesday and Thursday.

High pressure building into the area will give our area a southwest flow of much milder air, high temperatures will be around 15 degrees higher than yesterday with much less wind. A cold front will cross the area tonight with winds becoming northwest and gusty by late tonight.

An unusual period of dry weather is expected through at least early next week. Tomorrow will be mostly sunny but cooler and breezy.

Cooler than normal weather is expected to continue Friday through Monday with a warming trend starting on Tuesday with 60s possible by the middle of next week.

Today will be a cold and windy day along with mostly sunny skies. High temperatures will only be in the 30s but with winds gusting at times above 40 mph will make it feel much colder. Winds will diminish by this evening.

High pressure building into the area on Wednesday will again give us mostly sunny skies with much milder temperatures and much less wind.

An unusual stretch of dry weather is expected through at least into early next week. Temperatures will mainly be below normal.

Looking further ahead it appears that much of next week will be milder with some highs possibly in the 60s.

CLIFTON’S SUMMARY FOR FEBRUARY 2021 (Records go back to 1973)

February’s average temperature was 31.6 degrees which is near normal. The highest temperature was 55 on the 24th, the lowest was 12 degrees on the 8th. Precipitation was above normal with 5.18″. Snowfall was 35.5″ which made it the snowiest February since my records began.

SUMMARY FOR THE WINTER MONTHS DECEMBER THROUGH FEBRUARY:

This winter month’s average temperature 33.7 degrees which was slightly above normal. Precipitation was above normal with 12.59 inches. Snowfall was much above normal with 47.5″ accumulating.

The low pressure that gave us the rain will be moving offshore and the rain and drizzle should end before noon. Sunshine will return this afternoon and it will be seasonably mild with highs near 50. A cold front will come through the area this evening followed by a strong northwest flow of much colder air. Winds may gust up to 47 mph tonight and a wind advisory is in effect.

Tuesday will be a cold day with highs only in the 30s and with gusty winds it will feel even colder but winds should diminsh by late in the day.

Much milder on Wednesday along with mostly sunny skies as high pressure builds into the area.

Dry but chilly weather is expected Thursday through the weekend.

Another low pressure area will move into the area today causing rain to develop around noon and continue through Monday morning. Rainfall amounts will be around a half of inch.

A cold front will cross the area Monday night with Arctic air behind it causing colder weather with a chance of some flurries Monday night. Tuesday will continue to be cold and windy with mostly sunny skies.

Mainly dry weather Wednesday through next weekend. Temperatures will be mild Wednesday and Thursday but turning colder Friday through next weekend.
