Rain is falling over the area early on this Christmas morning and temperatures are unseasonably warm with readings ranging from the upper 50s in Clifton down to the low 50s further inland. Winds are strong from the south and there are reports of some trees and power lines down in the area.

The strong frontal system is moving through the area now and we will continue to have rain possibly heavy at times through this morning. The rain will taper off to showers this afternoon. Winds gusting above 40 mph will slowly diminish by this afternoon. Temperatures that are in the upper 50s now will fall to near 40 by sunset and down into the 20s by late tonight.

The weekend weather will be dry, Saturday will be chilly with highs only reaching to around freezing. Sunday will be milder after a cold early morning.

A weak frontal system may touch off a shower on Monday with milder temperatures.

Colder and dry Tuesday and Wednesday.

Another rather strong low pressure system will likely give us rain for New Year’s Eve along with milder temperatures.

A very strong cold front will be approaching our area today with a southerly flow of quite mild and moist air ahead of the front. Rain is expected to begin around 4 p.m. and become heavy at times at night. Winds will become quite strong with gusts up to 50 mph. Rainfall amounts of 2-3 inches are likely. A wind advisory and a flood watch is in effect for the area.

The rain should taper off to showers on Christmas after the cold front moves through the area in the morning. It will become much colder, early highs well up into the 50s in the morning will fall to the mid 30s by sunset and into the 20s at night.

Dry weather is expected for the weekend, Saturday will be cold and Sunday will be slightly milder.

A weak cold front may touch off a shower on Monday followed by dry and seasonably cool weather for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Another rainstorm with mild temperatures is possible on New Year’s Eve.

High pressure overhead will give us a dry day with highs a couple of degrees above normal. We should see an increase in high clouds this afternoon, winds should be much lighter than yesterday.

A strong cold front with low pressure developing along the front will be approaching our area tomorrow which will give us a strong southerly flow of much milder air. Rain from this system should begin tomorrow afternoon and become heavy at times at time continuing into Christmas morning. Temperatures will rise into the 50s Rainfall amounts will be between 2-3 inches with wind gusts of 50 mph possible.

The strong cold front will cross the area Christmas morning followed by much colder air, the precipitation will end before any change over to snow.

The upcoming weekend is expected to be cold and dry.

A weak disturbance may touch off some light rain on Monday.

A weak trough will pass through the area today causing cloudy skies this morning and will be followed by clearing this afternoon and it will become a little breezy, highs will be near normal.

High pressure will be in control of our weather on Wednesday with sunny skies and again near normal temperatures.

As the high moves offshore on Thursday and strong southerly flow of very mild and moist air will move into our area and rain will likely develop by the afternoon becoming heavy at times at night. 1-2 inches of rainfall is expected along with winds gusting to 40 mph.

Showers may continue on Christmas morning as a strong cold front crosses the area. It will become much colder but now it looks like the precipitation will end before being able to change to snow.

Chilly and dry weather is expected for the weekend.

Another disturbance may effect our weather early next week.

Today will be a mainly cloudy day with light winds with seasonable temperatures with highs near 40.

Tonight a weak disturbance will give us a chance of snow showers late tonight into early Tuesday morning, no accumulation is expected here but a dusting is possible across the higher terrain to our north and west.

Dry weather with temperature near seasonable levels the rest of Tuesday into Wednesday as high pressure builds into our area.

A strong cold front will approach the area on Thursday with a southerly flow of mild air moving into our area. Rain ahead of the front will be heavy at times with 1-2 inches possible. Along with the rain winds may gust to 40 mph.

The front will cross the area sometime on Christmas Day bringing in colder air along with a chance of snow showers.

The weekend looks to be dry with temperatures below normal on Saturday and near normal on Sunday.
