Skies are mostly clear early on this Friday morning and temperatures are chilly with readings ranging from the upper teens in Clifton down to 8 degrees at Walpack, winds are mainly light out of the north.

Strong high pressure will continue to dominate our weather today and there will be more sunshine than yesterday but it will continue to be cold with highs only in the 30s.

Pleasantly mild weather for the weekend with plenty of sunshine both days.

Dry and mild weather on Monday but we should see an increase in clouds and a chance of rain at night.

Mild with periods of rain Tuesday and Wednesday as a low pressure area moves through the area.

A stronger low pressure area now looks to move to our west and north and has been the case much of this winter it looks now that it will only give us rain with any snow well north and west of our area.

Skies are mostly fair early on this Thursday morning and temperatures are colder than the last few mornings with readings ranging from the upper 20s in Clifton down to the upper teens further inland, winds are from the northwest.

CLIFTON’S ALMANAC FOR FEBRUARY 20TH:

YESTERDAY’S HIGH: 47 LOW: 29 PRECIPITATION: NONE

A large high pressure extending from the middle of the country will give us colder temperatures today, we should see some high cloudiness this afternoon as a low pressure well to our south moves offshore. This system is expected to give snow to parts of North Carolina and Virginia.

Mostly sunny on Friday and continued cold, lows Friday morning should drop down to the mid teens and rise to the 30s in the afternoon.

As the high pressure moves offshore a southwesterly flow will bring milder air into our area for the weekend and we will stay dry.

Dry and mild during the day on Monday but a frontal system is expected to give us a chance of rain Monday night into Tuesday.

High pressure will then build in to the area on Wednesday, temperatures will continue to be mild.

Colder late next week and there is some indications that a storm will develop on Thursday and depending on the track there is a chance that the precipitation will be snow but this is still a week away so plenty of time to track this potential storm.

The frontal system that only gave us a trace of rain yesterday is moving offshore and a northwest flow of drier air will move into our area from a large high pressure building from the northern plains states. It will become mostly sunny today after some morning cloudiness and it will be breezy with steady temperatures in the 40s.

The high pressure will continue to give us mostly sunny days Thursday and Friday but with cold temperatures, although it won’t be as frigid as last week.

Milder again over the weekend and with mostly sunny skies both days it will quite comfortable for this time of year.

The next chance of rain will be Monday night into Tuesday as another frontal system moves into the area, temperatures will continue to be mild.

A frontal system moving through our area will give us periods of light rain today mainly between 10 a.m. this morning until 9 p.m. this evening, rainfall amounts will be less than 1/4″

Sunshine will return on Wednesday. It will still be seasonably mild during the day but become colder at night as high pressure builds into the area.

Dry and colder Thursday and Friday but not as frigid as we experience late last week.

As has been the case most of the winter the cold air will not last long, and the weekend into early next week will be milder and mainly dry.

After some early morning cloudiness we should have mostly sunny skies today with mild temperature and light winds as a weak high pressure builds into our area.

A frontal system will cause mainly some light rain on Tuesday which may start off as a mixture of snow or rain in the morning before changing over to plain rain, no accumulation is expected here but across the Poconos and extreme northwest New Jersey may pick up an inch or so of snow. Rainfall amounts should be about a quarter inch or less.

Clearing on Wednesday with seasonably mild temperatures.

Dry and chilly Thursday and Friday but not as frigid as a couple of days ago.

As been the case much of the winter the cold air will not last long and the weekend looks to be dry with mild temperatures.
