Partial clearing today with slowly diminishing winds after yesterday’s strong and damaging storm!

Good morning everyone!   Skies are cloudy early this morning and temperatures range from the mid 30s  in the Clifton area down to the upper 20s further inland.  Winds are still gusty out of the northwest.  Yesterday here in Clifton we received 3 inches of snow while inland much more was reported with 9 inches at Schooley’s Mountain and well over a foot in the Poconos.  Winds were the strongest at my station in almost two years.  These winds caused considerable damage as trees and power lines came down causing many people to lose power.

Today we should see some partial sunshine, it will still be windy but not as strong as yesterday, a wind advisory is in effect for gusts to near 50 mph, winds will diminish tonight as the strong coastal storm moves slowly east.  Temperatures will be seasonably cool with highs in the 40s.

Dry weather with seasonably cool temperatures will continue tomorrow into early next week.

Another low pressure system will give us some precipitation late Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning but at this time it looks to me a mainly rain event although further inland the precipitation may start off as snow.

Dry weather at the end of the week with seasonably cool temperatures continuing.
