Some light snow later today changing to rain before daybreak on Wednesday! Heavy rain possible late Wednesday into early Thursday morning!


Skies have become cloudy early on this Tuesday morning and temperatures range from the low 30s here in Clifton to the mid 20s further inland, winds are light.

Today will be a cloudy and chilly day, precipitation in the form of  light snow is expected to develop this afternoon mixing with sleet and freezing rain tonight before changing to all rain by daybreak Wednesday morning as a  weak low pressure moves off the Carolina coast.  Accumulations will be less than an inch in Clifton and up to 2 inches of snow and ice further inland.

A stronger low  pressure system will be moving from the gulf states to the Great Lakes on Wednesday, periods of rain during the day will become heavier by evening, a warm front from this system will move to our north and temperatures will rise into the 50s at night. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 1 1/2 inches possible.

A cold front with this system will move through on Thursday, rain showers will accompany the front, temperatures will be in the 50s in the morning dropping to the 40s late in the day.

Dry and chilly weather Friday and Saturday.

Continued dry Sunday and Monday but with milder temperatures.

TONIGHT – Light snow mixing with sleet and rain and changing to all rain by daybreak on Wednesday, lows in the low 30s.

WEDNESDAY – Periods of rain becoming heavier late in the day and night, high near 50.

THURSDAY – Rain till around 8 a.m tapering off to showers, highs in the mid 50s early dropping to the 40s in the afternoon.

SUNDAY – Partly sunny, high in the low 50s.

MONDAY – Mostly cloudy, high in the mid 50s.

 

MARINE FORECAST:  Small craft advisory in effect till 6 p.m. on Wednesday for northeast winds gusting to 30 knots, seas building to 7-10 feet.

OUTLOOK – Advisories level conditions are expected to continue from late Wednesday through Friday with no advisories expected on Saturday.

Skies have become mostly clear early this Monday morning and temperatures range from the mid 30s here in Clifton to the mid 20s in the normally inland areas, winds are light.

Today will be a rather nice day with plenty of sunshine and light northerly winds,  it will be cooler than over the weekend but temperatures will still be a little above normal.

A storm will develop over the gulf states and take a track to our west, precipitation from this system will begin tomorrow afternoon in the form of mixed snow, sleet and rain that will change to all rain early Wednesday morning, we may see a coating to 1/2 inch of frozen precipitation before the change over.

Rain heavy at times especially from Wednesday night into Thursday morning, expect around 1-2 inches of rainfall.  Temperatures will become quite mild.

Dry and cooler Friday through the weekend.

Another mild day to end the weekend! Some light rain tonight! Midweek storm to give us mainly rain!


Skies are mostly clear early on this Sunday morning and with calm winds there is a rather large spread in temperatures ranging from the low 40s here in Clifton to some upper 20s in some of the inland valleys.

Today will start off sunny but we should see an increase in cloudiness late in the day, it will be continued to be mild but not as mild as yesterday’s 62 degree high temperatures.  A weak low pressure moving offshore to our south will give us a chance of rain tonight ending before daybreak on Monday. Rainfall amounts of around a tenth of an inch.

Monday and during the day on Tuesday will be mainly dry, temperatures will be slightly above normal on Monday dropping to near normal on Tuesday.

The storm for the middle of the week will take a track across Western Pennsylvania on Wednesday, precipitation should begin after midnight on Tuesday night in the form of a mix of snow, and freezing rain changing to all rain around daybreak on Wednesday, little or no frozen accumulation is expected.

Rain on Wednesday will persist into Thursday, temperatures with a southerly flow will be mild.  The rain may be heavy at times.  Rainfall amounts from this system will be 1 to 1 1/2 inches.

Cooler and dry weather is likely Friday into next weekend.

Nice preview of spring this weekend! Storm for the midweek looks to give us mainly just rain!


Skies are cloudy early on this Saturday morning and temperatures are mild with readings ranging from around 40 in the Clifton area to the low 30s. inland, winds are nearly calm.

A warm front is crossing the area this morning giving the area overcast conditions but we should see clearing later this morning and it will become quite mild with high temperatures approaching the 60 degree mark, this is around 40 degrees warmer than the high temperatures last weekend, it will be a little breezy this afternoon.

Continued fair weather with continued mild weather on Sunday but highs should be around 5-10 degrees lower than today.

A weak low pressure disturbance will be moving to our south before daybreak on Monday that will give us a low chance of some light rain or snow, clearing during the day on Monday with cooler temperatures.

A stronger storm will be moving from the Tennessee Valley into the midwest Wednesday into Thursday, since the storm will move to our west we will have mainly rain as warmer southerly winds will be in our area.

The rain should end on Thursday followed by seasonably cold air at the end of next week.

Chilly again today with increasing cloudiness! Mild and dry weekend! Significant storm likely around Wednesday!


Skies are mostly clear early on this Friday morning and temperatures are on the cold side ranging from the upper teens in Clifton to around 10 in the normally colder inland areas, winds are light.

Today we will see an increase of clouds, temperatures will be on the chilly side but less wind than yesterday.  A warm front will give us a low chance of rain tonight that may fall briefly as some freezing rain inland.

Much warmer on Saturday with mostly sunny skies and temperatures rising well up into the 50s.   A little cooler on Sunday but highs still reaching the low 50s.

A weak low pressure system is expected to move off the coast late Sunday night that will give us another chance of some light rain or snow.

Dry with near seasonable temperatures Monday into most of Tuesday.

Still watching for a significant storm around the middle of next week, models are not in agreement this far out but at this time it appears that we will have snow changing to rain on Wednesday.
