Skies are cloudy over the region this Monday morning and temperatures are still on the mild side ranging from the mid 30s in the Clifton area to some upper 20s further inland, winds are northeast 5-10 mph.

A strong storm offshore will move northeast but a band of snow extending westward is now just off the Northern New Jersey coast, this band is likely to move into the area this morning and continue this afternoon, snow amounts should total around 2-3 inches with less to our west and more to our east.  Temperatures should slowly fall into the low 30s this afternoon.  This light snow should end tonight.

Another low pressure area is expected to form off the coast with light snow in our area on Tuesday and we may pick up another inch or so of the white stuff.

An upper air trough is expected to be over the area Wednesday and Thursday with snow showers likely along with cool temperatures.

An Arctic front will cross the area on Friday, followed by frigid weather over the weekend.  We should stay dry but the latest European model is indicating some snow on Saturday.

TODAY – Snow developing, temperatures in the mid 30s this morning falling to the low 30s by sunset, accumulations 2-3 inches.

TONIGHT – Cloudy with a chance of light snow after midnight, low in the low 20s.

TUESDAY – Cloudy with a light snow likely, accumulation about 1 inch, high in the mid 30s.

WEDNESDAY – Cloudy with snow showers likely, high in the upper 30s.

Skies are clear early on this Sunday morning and temperatures are seasonably cool ranging from the mid 20s here in Clifton to some upper teens in the colder inland areas, winds are nearly calm.

After a cool start temperatures will become mild today with plenty of sunshine and light winds, today will probably be the nicest day of this upcoming week.

Still a low confidence forecast for the next few days as one strong low pressure system will move off the Carolina coast probably too far out to sea to give us any significant snow, however another low is expected to develop on Tuesday closer to our area that will likely give us some snow.   There is even a chance of some more snow showers for Wednesday.  At this time total accumulations from these systems will range from about 2 inches in Clifton area with less to our west and more to our east.  Still a complicated pattern so stay tuned for further updates.

Dry weather is expected Thursday through next weekend with below normal temperatures with the weekend being downright frigid.

Skies are clear early on this Saturday morning and temperatures are chilly ranging from the mid 20s in Clifton to the upper teens in some of the outlying areas, winds are light.

After a cool start today will become milder as high pressure to our south will provide the area with plenty of sunshine on southwest winds.

Continued sunny weather on Sunday with highs a couple of degrees warmer than today.

A very complicated forecast Monday through Wednesday as two low pressure systems will affect the weather, the first one is a storm now developing off the Carolina coast, this storm will be quite strong but it should be far enough offshore and not give us any heavy snow and wind.  The second low will develop closer to our area on Tuesday but will be weaker.  At this time I will forecast light periods of light snow Monday afternoon through Wednesday morning but my confidence in the forecast is quite low in this complex set up.

Snow is falling early on this Friday morning and temperatures are near the freezing mark across the area, winds are from the north averaging around 10 mph.

Yesterday morning I said that we would only have a slight chance of snow with higher chances to our east but the front stayed just offshore and a low pressure has formed closer to our area causing the snow in much of the area.  Snow should continue this morning and give us around 2-3 inches of the white stuff.  Temperatures are expected to be at or above freezing so most of the accumulation should just be on colder surfaces, still there may be some slippery roads mainly on secondary roads so be careful heading out this morning.  Sunshine will return this afternoon with highs near 40 which will help melt the snow.

The weekend will be dry with temperatures slightly above normal.

A storm is expected to develop off our coast on Monday night which will likely give us snow into Tuesday, at this time it is difficult to pinpoint accumulations but my best guess it will be a mainly light to moderate event.

Dry and cold but not frigid weather is expected the rest of next week.

Temperatures are still very mild across the area early this Thursday morning with readings ranging from the mid 50s here in Clifton to the mid 40s further inland, skies are cloudy and there is some drizzle and fog in the area, winds are nearly calm.  I did write last Thursday morning that by this time the snowpack would be all but gone and that seems to be the case over much of the area as mild temperatures along with yesterday’s heavy rain melted the snow.

A cold front will cross the area this morning followed by clearing, high temperatures will be reached this morning and fall slowly this afternoon as cool air moves into the area.

A low pressure disturbance will develop along this front offshore on Friday morning and may give some snow to areas just to the east of us as Long Island and coastal New Jersey could have light accumulations while areas to our west will not see any precipitation.   Skies should clear late in the day.

A tranquil weekend is anticipated with plenty of sunshine and temperatures slightly above normal.

An unsettled pattern early next week as colder air moves into the area and a couple of low pressure areas develop, too soon for details but there is a chance of more significant snow during this period.
