Skies are clear at daybreak this morning with a temperature of 60 degrees in Clifton to the 50s in most of the inland areas, humidity is quite low.

Yesterday the Clifton area only received .11″ of rain as we were in between the areas that had much more as Southeast New England recorded over 2 inches and parts of extreme Northwest New Jersey into the Hudson Valley had over an inch.

This weekend will be the 5th one in a row of very pleasant summer weather.  Today will be sunny with very low humidity for July as dew points will be in the 40s, high temperatures will be seasonably warm reaching the 80s, winds will be a bit brisk due to Arthur that is moving into the Canadian Maritime area.

Sunday will again be pleasantly warm, humidity will rise only a bit with dew points still in the comfortable 50s.

Warm to hot weather early next week as we should reach the 90 degree mark by Monday, humidity will be higher but not as steamy as we experience early this week.

A slow moving cold front will cause some showers and thunderstorms  on Wednesday followed by slightly cooler and drier conditions for the end of the week.

We have cloudy skies early this Independence Day, temperatures are in the upper 60s with continued high humidity but not as steamy as the last couple of mornings.  Radar at 6am shows rain in Eastern Pennsylvania and some precipitation developing across Southern New Jersey.

Rain from both a cold front in our area and moisture from Hurricane Arthur will move back into our area this morning and then move offshore this evening.  This rain should not be as intense as the storms we had yesterday evening.   High temperatures today will be lower than the last few days.  Clearing should take place by this evening and it will become much less humid and it will be a little breezy.

The weekend weather will be outstanding once again with seasonably warm temperatures and low humidity.

Warmer temperatures and humidity into the midweek period with a chance of thunderstorms Tuesday and Wednesday.

Dry and less humid on Thursday.

At daybreak this morning in the Clifton area it is cloudy and muggy with the temperature around the 70 degree mark.

An area of light rain has moved offshore early this morning and most of the rest of the morning should be rainfree.  Showers and thunderstorms should develop this afternoon and continue tonight, some storms again may be quite strong with gusty winds and heavy rain.  A flash flood watch is effect for the area.

Arthur is now a hurricane off the southeast coast.  The storm is expected to cross the Outer Banks late tonight and then move about 200 miles east of the New Jersey coast on Friday.  Some moisture from the hurricane may interact with a cold front that will cross the area tomorrow morning enhancing the rain in our area.  Most of the rain should end by noontime on Friday and we should have some clearing late in the day and become much less humid.

Saturday will be very pleasant with warm temperatures and very low humidity.  For beachgoers Arthur will cause high surf and dangerous rip currents.

Sunday will continue to be very pleasant with seasonably warm temperatures and low humidity.

Temperatures and humidity will rise early next week along with possible afternoon and evening thunderstorms both  Tuesday and Wednesday.

Skies are mostly clear at daybreak this morning and temperatures are in the low 70s with rather high humidity.

Yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far as the high reached 93 degrees.

Another hot and humid day today with temperatures again reaching the low 90s.  There will be a greater chances of thunderstorms later today and this evening, these storms may be accompanied by strong gusty winds and heavy rain.

A cold front will be moving into the area on Thursday with rain heavy at times likely, temperatures with more cloud cover will be around five degrees cooler than today but the humidity will remain quite high.

Meanwhile Tropical Storm Arthur is off the coast of Florida this morning and is expected to become a weak hurricane as it reaches the Outer Banks of North Carolina on Friday morning and then move about 250 miles off our coast by late on Friday.   Interaction between the storm and a cold front in our area may cause heavy rain Thursday night into Friday morning.  We should have clearing late in the day on Friday but it will be breezy.

Much less humid conditions for the weekend, temperature will be seasonably warm.  Breezy conditions on Saturday along with strong rip currents along the coast as Arthur pulls away.  Plenty of sunshine both Saturday and Sunday as we will  have another nice weather weekend.

Skies are mostly clear at daybreak this morning in the Clifton area, temperatures are in the upper 60s and the humidity is high.

After a quiet weather pattern most of June things are more interesting as we start off July.  Today will be hot and humid with a chance of an afternoon and evening thunderstorm, it will be hot with temperatures reaching the 90 degree mark along with high humidity.

Heat and humidity will continue on Wednesday with possible severe thunderstorms mainly again in the afternoon and evening, these storms may be accompanied by strong gusty winds and heavy rain.

On Thursday and slow moving cold front will be approaching from the west, humidity will remain high with possible heavy rain, temperatures will be slightly lower as we should have more cloudiness.

Meanwhile a tropical depression has formed off the coast of Florida and is expected to become a weak hurricane by Thursday passing over the Outer Banks of North Carolina late Thursday night and move off the New Jersey coast Friday.  Most of the winds from this storm should remain offshore but there is a chance of flooding rains from late in the day on Thursday into Friday morning.  This forecast depends on the track of what will probably become Arthur.

Arthur along with the frontal system will be well offshore by Friday night giving us another very pleasant weather weekend.

Heat and humidity is expected to return early next week.
