Milder but we have to deal with rain through the weekend!

Skies have became cloudy early this morning and temperatures are about 15 degrees warmer than this time yesterday morning mainly in the low-mid 30s.

We finally got rid of the cold winter like weather but now although it will be milder we have to contend with some rain today  through the weekend.

Today showers will develop later this morning and continue at times into this evening, temperatures will become milder with highs mainly in the upper 50s.

Saturday will start off dry but rain will develop later in the afternoon and become heavy at times at night with a couple of inches of precipitation expected.

In now appears Sunday will be somewhat cooler with periods of rain continuing.

Rain should end by Monday morning with some slow clearing,  temperatures will be milder.

Tuesday and Wednesday should be nice days with highs reaching the low 60s.

A weak cold front may give us a chance of showers Wednesday night into Thursday with continued mild temperatures.

The forecast: Today – Showers developing, high in the upper 50s.

Tonight – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, low around 40.

Saturday – Cloudy with rain developing mainly after 4pm and continuing heavy at times at night, high in the low 50s.

Moderating temperatures and less wind today after a chilly morning!

Temperatures this morning are near record lows with readings in the teens , skies are clear but winds have diminished from yesterday. It should not be this cold again till at least next November.

Today will feel much more bearable than yesterday as the monster low pressure moved further away into the Canadian Maritimes and high pressure builds into the area.  Winds will further diminish and temperatures will rise into the upper 40s, still below normal for this time of year. We will have a sunny start to the day but increasing clouds later in the day.

Early morning temperatures on Friday will be around 15 degrees warmer than this morning.  During the day showers will likely develop before noon and last through the afternoon, temperatures will become mild reaching close to the 60 degree mark.

Saturday will be a cloudy day with rain developing in the afternoon and continuing at night, we may receive over an inch of rain, temperatures will not be as mild as Friday but should still reach close to 50 degrees.

Questions on how fast the system moves through, the European model keeps rain in the area most of Sunday and Sunday night while the American model moves the system offshore keeping our area dry on Sunday.  I will side with the American model this time and only forecast a chance of showers early on Sunday.

Clearing and mild for Monday with a chance of showers and mild on Tuesday, clearing and continued seasonably mild on Wednesday.

The forecast: Today – Mostly sunny with increasing cloudiness late in the day, high in the mid 40s.

Tonight – Mostly cloudy, low in the low 30s.

Friday – Cloudy with a chance of showers developing before noon, milder, highs in the upper 50s.

Saturday – Cloudy with periods of rain developing in the afternoon and continuing at night, high near 50.

Sunday – Chance of morning showers then mostly cloudy, high near 50.

Monday – Mostly sunny, high near 60.

Tuesday – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, high near 60.

Wednesday – Partly sunny, high in the upper 50s.

Marine Forecast: Today – West-northwest wind to 12 knots, seas 2-3 feet.

Outlook – Small craft advisories possible on Friday, below advisory levels on Saturday with advisories possible again Saturday night into Sunday.

Have a good day!

No snow from the monster coastal storm but we will get the wind today!

Skies are cloudy in the Clifton area and temperatures are around 30 degrees, winds are starting to pick up out of the northwest.

Not even one flurry of snow was reported in our area overnight as another potential snowstorm missed our area, the removal of the shower curtain passed the test for the sixth time since February 20th and this was probably the final test.  Flurries were reported as close as Newark and a few inches fell in Southern New Jersey once again.

Although we missed the snow from the rapidly intensifying storm offshore we will get the winds today as we should have gusts above 40 mph, skies will clear by this afternoon but temperatures will be unseasonable cold only reaching the 30s and the wind chills will be in the teens.

Clear with record low temperatures possible tonight.

Thursday will be a little milder during the day and dry with diminishing winds.

Finally we will have a more normal spring pattern starting on Friday and lasting into next week. Showers are likely Friday through at least Sunday morning and again a chance of showers next Tuesday but highs should be in the 50s and lows only dropping to around 40 as winterlike weather ends in our area.

The forecast: Today – Mostly cloudy this morning becoming sunny this afternoon, very windy with gusts approaching 45 mph, unseasonably cold with highs only in the upper 30s.

Tonight – Mostly clear and very cold, low in the upper teens, diminishing winds later at night.

Thursday – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 40s.

Friday – Cloudy with showers likely developing before noon and continuing at night, milder with highs in the upper 50s.

Saturday – Cloudy with showers likely, high in the mid 50s.

Sunday – Mostly cloudy with still a chance of showers, high in the low 50s.

Monday – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 50s.

Tuesday – Partly sunny with a chance of showers, high in the mid 50s.

Marine forecast: Today – Gale warning in effect through this evening for northwest winds gusting to 45 knots, seas up to 5 feet.

Outlook – Conditions lowering to below advisory levels on Thursday with advisories possible on Friday, drop to below advisory levels on Saturday but advisories again possible later Saturday night into Sunday..

Have a good day!

Unseasonably cold weather continues with some light snow tonight!

Skies have become cloudy this morning and temperatures range from the low 20s in the Clifton area to some teens inland, winds are light.

Today we will have mostly cloudy to cloudy conditions, temperatures will remain well below normal but winds will be lighter than the last couple of days.

The well advertised storm system is forming off the southeast and intensify rapidly as it moves northeast too far offshore to cause any significant issues in our area.  Light snow is likely ending by midnight, accumulations of less than 1/2 inch is expected in the Clifton area but a trough of low pressure associated with the storm will give higher amounts to the southern areas of New Jersey, I guess Debbie didn’t take down her shower curtain…

Clearing on Wednesday but it will remain cold with quite windy conditions.

After a chilly morning on Thursday temperatures will moderate somewhat. There will be a increase of cloudiness late in the day.

Finally some milder weather returning starting on Friday.  There is a chance of showers Friday into Saturday and at this point Sunday and Monday look dry with continued mild temperatures.

The forecast: Today – Mostly cloudy to cloudy, high in the upper 30s.

Tonight – Cloudy with light snow likely ending by midnight, accumulations less than 1/2 inch.  Low in the upper 20s.

Wednesday – Mostly cloudy in the morning, clearing in the afternoon, quite windy with highs in the upper 30s.

Thursday – Increasing cloudiness, high in the mid 40s.

Friday – Cloudy with a chance of showers, milder, high in the upper 50s, showers likely at night.

Saturday – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high in the mid-upper 50s.

Sunday – Partly sunny, high in the mid 50s.

Monday – Partly sunny, high near 60.

Marine Forecast: Today – South-southeast wind to 12 knots, seas 1 foog.

Gale warning in effect for late tonight into Wednesday morning.

Outlook – Conditions improve to below advisory levels late at night Wednesday into Thursday but advisories again likely late Thursday night into Friday…

Have a good day!

Record cold temperatures this morning; Little snow late in the day and night on Tuesday!

With clear skies this morning temperatures have fallen to the teens with many record lows reported, winds are brisk out of the north.

Despite plenty of sunshine today temperatures will only rise to the mid 30s which is about 20 degrees below normal for this time of year. Is this really spring?

The coastal storm that is expected to rapidly develop on Tuesday will be far enough to our east to cause any major problems but a trough will extend westward that will likely give us some light snow accumulations from late afternoon ending before daybreak on Wednesday. Accumulations should be around 2 inches.  This is a complex situation and the forecast still may change..

Well below normal temperatures will continue on Wednesday, skies will clear and winds will be gusty making it feel much colder.

After a very cold morning on Thursday plenty of sunshine will moderate temperatures somewhat but still will be  below normal.

Temperatures will finally reach normal levels Friday into the weekend with some showers possible Friday into Saturday.

Warmer still next week with high temperatures mainly in the 60s to around 70. Yippee!!

The forecast: Today – Sunny, high in the mid 30s.

Tonight – Partly cloudy, low around 20.

Tuesday – Mostly cloudy with light snow developing after 4pm, high in the upper 30s.  Light snow ending before daybreak on Wednesday, total accumulations around 2 inches.

Wednesday – Partly sunny, windy and cold, high in the upper 30s.

Thursday – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 40s.

Friday – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high in the upper 50s.

Saturday – Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high in the upper 50s.

Sunday – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 50s.

Marine Forecast: Today – Northwest winds to 18 knots this morning, diminishing to 12 knots this afternoon, seas 1-2 feet.

Outlook: Gale watch for late Tuesday night into Wednesday afternoon. Conditions lowering to below advisory levels late Wednesday night into Thursday but advisories may be likely again late Thursday night and Friday.

Have a good day!
