After having a very pleasant day yesterday for the Super Bowl with temperatures in the 50s, winter weather has returned.  Snow has moved into the area and is falling rather heavily and will continue into early this afternoon, accumulations will range 5-8″ in the area.

Tuesday will be dry and seasonably cold

A second storm promised to give us more snow, sleet and freezing rain on Wednesday that will likely give us more significant accumulations, it appears at this time that the precipitation will not change to plain rain as we indicated yesterday.

Dry and cold Thursday and Friday.

Still another disturbance may give us some light snow on Saturday.

And then there is indications of a possible blizzard late Sunday into next Monday.  Can’t be much better than this for snow lovers during the next seven days!

The forecast: Today snow heavy at times ending around 4pm, accumulation 5-8 inches, high in the low 30s.

Tonight – Partly cloudy, low around 20.

Wednesday – Snow beginning before daybreak, mixed at times with sleet and freezing rain, significant accumulation likely, high in the low to mid 30s.

Thursday – Mostly sunny, high near 30.

Friday – Mostly sunny, high in the low 30s.

Saturday – Mostly cloudy with a chance of light snow, high in the low 30s.

Sunday – Mostly cloudy with snow developing towards evening, high in the low-mid 30s.

Skies are cloudy at daybreak this morning with temperatures mainly in the upper 20s.

A mild day is expected for Super bowl Sunday with high temperatures reaching the mild 50 degree mark, skies will be mostly cloudy but no precipitation is expected.  Temperature at the start of the game should be in the low 40s dropping to the upper 30s by the end of the contest.  Good thing the game is not in Dallas where snow is expected today..

Winter weather is right around the corner however three separate storms will affect the area this week. The first one on Monday will give us snow starting before daybreak tomorrow and end in the afternoon, 2-4 inches of snow is expected.

Brief lull in the weather on Tuesday with seasonably cold temperatures.

Another stronger storm will affect our area on Wednesday, this one will have more precipitation with it but the type of precipitation is still in question at this time, we may have a mix of snow, sleet, rain and freezing rain.

Fair and colder weather Thursday and Friday, temperatures will be below normal but not nearly as cold as we experience last week.

Still another storm on Saturday and Sunday, this looks mainly as a snow event at this time.

Skies are cloudy at daybreak this Saturday with temperatures near 30 degrees, quite a bit milder than we have experienced lately.

Today will feature plenty of clouds but we will remain dry with highs reaching the mid 40s.

On Sunday we may have some early drizzle and fog, it should remain cloudy with quite mild temperatures.

The Super Bowl really lucked out with the weather as it should remain dry with temperatures at the start of the game should be around 44 degrees cooling off to the upper 30s by the end of the game.

A good chance of some light snow during the day on Monday and we may pick up a couple of inches.

Dry and seasonably cold on Tuesday but another storm will approach causing snow develop late Tuesday night.

The storm will be moving into our area on Wednesday, tough at this time when there will be a change over to plain rain but we may again have at least a couple of inches of snow before this occurs.

Dry and colder for the end of next week, but not as frigid as we just experienced this past week.

Skies are cloudy at daybreak today with temperatures ranging from the low 20s in the Clifton area to some teens inland. These readings are more than 10 degrees warmer than the last few mornings and near normal for this time of day in late January .

Clouds will persist today with temperatures rising to near the 40 degree mark.

Quite nice on Saturday with highs reaching the 40s…

There is a chance of some light rain early on Sunday, it will be quite mild with readings in the upper 40s.

Game time temperature for the Super Bowl will be around 40 degrees, it will be cloudy but dry.  In fact it may not even be the coldest Super Bowl ever since in 1972 in New Orleans temperatures were in the 30s then, so go figure…

It will be colder on Monday with a chance of some light snow,

Dry on Tuesday.

A stronger storm will likely move into our area on Wednesday, too early to get into details but it appears at this time that the precipitation will start out as snow changing to rain and then back to snow again.

There is a chance of another storm for next weekend but again it is too early to get into details for this storm also… So stay tuned!!!

Another bitterly cold morning with most readings are in the upper single digits in the Clifton area.  Inland Southern New Jersey many temperatures have fallen well below zero due clear skies, calm winds and heavier snowpack in  those areas.

Plenty of sunshine today with permit the temperatures to rise to near the 30 degree mark. Not as cold tonight with increasing cloudiness and a southwest flow.

Milder trend continues Friday into the weekend with most high temperatures in the 40s.

Great weather for the Super Bowl with temperatures in the low 40s at the start of the game falling to the 30s by the end.

Cooler weather to start next week, there is a slight chance of some light snow on Monday but a stronger storm will be moving into the area on Wednesday.  Heavy precipitation is likely that may be in the form of rain, ice or snow depend on the track of the low pressure moving up from the Gulf states..
