Cooler and much less humid Friday; Pleasant weekend!


The cold front that caused the heavy thunderstorms has moved offshore and cooler and much less humid air will be moving into our area.
Today we will have partly sunny skies, high temperatures will be in the mid 70s and the humidity will be much lower by this afternoon with dew points dropping to the 40s.
Tonight we can turn off the air conditioners as temperatures will drop to around 50 in the Clifton area to the 40s further inland.
Pleasant and dry weekend is in store with temperatures a little below normal..
The nice late summer weather will continue next week, Tuesday will be the coolest day. Temperatures then will rise to just above normal by the end of the week. No rain is in the forecast the next several days.

Cold front to cause thunderstorms later today and tonight!


Another warm and humid morning, overnight low temperatures only dropped to the low 70s in the Clifton area..
Today we will have partly sunny skies to start and it will be quite warm and humid but due to more cloud cover temperatures will be a few degrees cooler than yesterday’s 95 degree reading.
Showers and thunderstorms will form to our west around noon and reach our area later this afternoon and last into tonight, some of these storms may be strong with heavy rain and gusty winds.
The cold front will pass early Friday morning with clearing, cooler and much less humid air following this front.
Pleasantly cool weekend weather with Saturday being the coolest day, high temperatures may not reach the 70 degree mark.
After a cool start on Sunday with lows in the 40s temperatures will rise into the mid 70s with plenty of sunshine.
Next week will be seasonably cool to start but gradually getting a little warmer at the end of the week. Little or no rain is expected.

Tonight – Showers and thunderstorms, some storms may produce very heavy downpours and strong gusty winds, mainly before 3AM, low in the upper 60s.

Saturday – Sunny, high near 70.
Sunday – Sunny, high in the upper 70s.
Monday – Mostly sunny, high in the low 70s.

Very hot and humid Wednesday!


Temperatures this morning under mostly clear skies are in the low 70s and with dew points around 70 degrees it feels quite muggy.
With plenty of sunshine today temperatures will reach the mid 90s, it should be short of the record 99 set back in 1983. However it will be the hottest day since July 20th.
A strong cold front will approach the area on Thursday with thunderstorms likely some may be strong with heavy rain and gusty winds.
Cooler and much drier air will follow the front on Friday.
Pleasantly cool weekend is in store for us with Saturday being the coolest day with temperatures only reaching the upper 60s.
Dry with seasonable temperatures as we head into next week.

Time to put the air conditioners back on!


Temperatures this morning are nearly 15 degrees higher than yesterday along with higher dew points.
A warm front will cross the area this morning, cloudy skies will give way to mostly sunny skies as the front pushes to our north, temperatures will reach the mid-upper 80s in many areas.
Even hotter and more humid on Wednesday as daytime temperatures reach the low 90s along with high humidity it will fell quite uncomfortable..
Showers and thunderstorms likely on Thursday as a cold front approaches, it will remain quite warm and humid.
After early morning showers on Friday it will becoming partly sunny, much cooler and less humid.
Quite chilly on Saturday with highs only in the upper 60s.
Temperatures will moderate a bit on Sunday into Monday with continued mostly fair skies and low humidity.

Chilly Monday then becoming much warmer on Tuesday!


Back home from Jamaica and I am writing this blog from home in Clifton instead of from my balcony overlooking the Caribbean. I missed a couple of blogs due to the internet connection being down and was a little later in submitting my report due to the hour time difference, now back to normal, darn it.

Well it is certainly cooler than the tropics this morning with clear skies and temperatures in the low 50s in the Clifton area and 40s further inland.
Today with plenty of sunshine it will be a pleasantly cool day with highs in the low 70s with less wind than yesterday.
However a warm front will move through the area on Tuesday with much warmer temperatures and humidity, dew points that will be in the upper 40s today will rise to near 70 by late Tuesday.
Wednesday will be an unseasonably hot day with readings reaching the low 90s in spots with high humidity.
A cold front on Thursday will cause some strong thunderstorms.
Back to cooler weather on Friday that will extend into the weekend.
