Today is my son’s birthday, Happy Birthday Jared! We had historic weather his last two birthdays with Superstorm Sandy last year and the rare snowstorm in 2011 that actually caused more tree damage in my yard as heavy wet snow fell on trees that were still in full foliage. Massive power outages were experienced in both of these storms..
This morning we have mostly cloudy skies, temperatures are near 40 with 30s inland.
Today we will have partly sunny skies, not as mild as yesterday with highs mostly only rising to the low-mid 50s.
Wednesday will remain dry with slightly milder temperatures but skies will be mostly cloudy.
A warm front will move to our north on Halloween with even milder air, there is a chance of showers in the afternoon and evening but most of the rain should hold off until after midnight.
Friday will be a rather warm day but rain is likely.
Next weekend will be dry with mild temperatures continuing on Saturday but cooler on Sunday.
The dry and seasonable cool weather will extend into early next week.

A wide range of temperatures this early morning with readings in the upper 30s in the Clifton area and in the 20s further inland, skies are clear with light winds.
With abundant sunshine temperatures will rise to the low 60s by this afternoon.
A weak cold front will cross the area later today with only an increase of clouds.
Our dry spell will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures will be cooler on Tuesday but rebound on Wednesday.
A warm front will move through on Thursday with a chance of showers and warmer temperatures.
A very mild evening for Halloween trick or treaters but there is a chance of showers.
Showers again possible on Friday with quite mild temperatures.
High pressure will move in for next weekend, Saturday will still be mild but cooler air will move in for Sunday.

Temperatures this morning are milder than the last few as temperatures are in the low 40s in the Clifton area with the 30s inland. We had some overcast conditions overnight but skies have becoming partly cloudy.
Today we will have another mostly sunny day with temperatures around normal for this time of year topping off in the upper 50s.
A little milder on Monday but a little cooler on Tuesday and seasonable temperatures on Wednesday, skies will be mostly fair.
Warmer weather for later in the week with a chance of showers, in fact November 1st the high may top the 70 degree mark.

The clear skies and light winds have caused much frost in our area, temperatures have fallen to the mid 30s with plenty of 20s further inland.
Today will be sunny and it will become breezy, temperatures will be a couple of degrees milder than yesterday.
Tonight we will have more clouds around and temperatures will not be as cool as the last few mornings.
Sunday should again be mostly sunny with lighter winds.
Continued dry weather Monday through Wednesday with near normal temperatures for late October.

Another chilly morning as temperatures have fallen once again to the mid 30s in the Clifton area to the mid-upper 20s in some of the usually colder spots.
Today we will have a bit more cloudiness than yesterday with similar high temperatures in the mid 50s.
A frost advisory has been issued for the Clifton area for tonight as we will have mostly clear skies and nearly calm winds with temperatures in the low-mid 30s.
Pleasant fall weekend is in store with plenty of sunshine but it still will be cool.
A moderating temperature trend next week with a chance of showers on Wednesday and on Halloween.

The weather is much quieter than this time last year when Sandy was moving up toward us.

Meanwhile in case you haven’t heard there is a more likely chance of a devastating storm affecting our area early next week. Most of the computer models now have Sandy hitting the area anywhere from the Chesapeake Bay area into Southern New England, the only model that has the storm going further offshore before moving back and hitting Maine is the American model (GFS). This is a very serious situation, this storm has the potential to be stronger than Irene last year. Hurricane force winds, torrential rain and coastal flooding is becoming more likely. This situation will become more clear tomorrow as more data is fed into the computer models. The National Weather Service are launching balloons four times a day instead of twice across the country to get more measurements of the upper air conditions. It may be a good idea to start to think about preparing for this potential historic storm. The eye of Sandy (the hurricane’s not Duncan’s) is located just off the coast and Cuba and will affect the Bahamas today and tomorrow then move north… Stay tuned for further updates…
