We had some light flurries early this morning that have coated colder surfaces with the white stuff and as we go through the day we still may see some more flurries and with skies mainly cloudy temperatures will not feel like spring only reaching the upper 30s.
Sunshine will return on Friday but it still will be chilly.
A nice but cool weekend is in store with plenty of sun..
The next storm system will mainly go to our south but there is still a chance of snow or rain late Sunday night into Monday.

Spring arrived at 7:02AM this morning but don’t expect any springlike weather for the next several days.
Today will be cool and breezy despite plenty of sunshine.
Tomorrow will even be cooler with even a chance of snow showers in the early morning that may give us a coating of snow especially to our south and east.
Friday through Sunday will be dry and a little milder but still temperatures will be below normal for this time of year.
And still another storm may affect our area on Monday with a chance of rain or snow, yes snow!
Looking ahead it appears that mainly below normal temperatures will continue into early April.

The storm that gave us a little more snow than expected ranging from around 4″ in the Clifton area up to 6″ inland. The precipitation changed to plain rain after midnight in our area but the colder areas kept icy conditions longer, most of the rain has moved offshore but we still may have very light rain or drizzle the rest of the morning.. By this afternoon slow clearing will take place and temperatures will climb into the mid 40s, about 10 degrees higher than yesterday.
Don’t look for springlike weather tomorrow the first day of spring as we will struggle to reach the low 40s despite mostly sunny skies..
Even colder on Thursday and with a storm well off shore we may have some flurries.
Slow moderation in temperatures Friday through the weekend but it will still be cooler than normal for this time of year., days will have plenty of sunshine.
Watching still another storm for early next week but most models have the storm remaining south of us, of course it is too early to tell if that will happen or if we are in store for another round of snow.

Outlook – Small craft advisories likely needed Wednesday and Thursday and then lowering to below advisory levels Friday through the weekend. Potential for a more significant storm early next week.

This morning is mostly clear and quite chilly with temperatures only in the low-mid 20s. As the day progresses we will have increasing cloudiness with snow arriving after 4PM, it may accumulate about 1/2 inch by evening mostly on colder surfaces. This precipitation then will change to a yucky mess of snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain that will continue past midnight, the total snow and ice accumulation should be about an inch before changing to all rain during the early morning hours, however inland there will be a longer period of frozen precipitation with amounts up to 4 inches over northwestern New Jersey.
The rain will end in the early afternoon on Tuesday followed by clearing.
Don’t look for spring weather for the first day of spring on Wednesday and maybe a week or more after. Well below normal temperatures into next weekend but it will at least be dry.
Some models are showing another storm for early next week that may give us more winter weather, stay tuned for details as we get closer to this next event.

Unlike the last three St. Patrick’s Day when temperatures were in the 60s, today we will have a hard time reaching the 40 degree mark despite plenty of sunshine.
On Monday a storm system approaching from the southwest will give us increasing cloudiness with more snow developing late in the day changing to a mix of freezing rain, snow and sleet later in the evening and to all rain by daybreak on Tuesday, about a coating to an inch of frozen precipitation in the Clifton area but inland northwest New Jersey will likely have a higher amount of snow and ice..
The rain will end around noon on Tuesday followed by clearing.
From Wednesday into early next weekend will be dry but with temperatures well below normal.
And to make matters worse for Spring lovers the long range computer models are showing a potential snowstorm for early next week, of course that can and probably will change as we move forward.
