Cold and dry weather continuing for your Thursday!


Temperatures this morning in the Clifton area are in the low 20s but you don’t have to travel too far to the north to encounter frigid temperatures with readings as of 6am of 5 degrees in Newburgh, NY, -3 in Albany and a bone chilling temperature of -24 in Saranac Lake NY.
Today we will have partly sunny skies with temperatures a couple of degrees lower than yesterday. On Friday temperatures will rise a couple of degrees to the upper 30s but there will be more wind. A slow moderating trend on the weekend with the only precipitation will be a possible snow flurry on Saturday night into Sunday morning. Next week most high temperatures will be in the mild 40s with no winter storms on the horizon.

Cold and dry next couple of days!


Colder air has moved into are area and most temperatures of fallen into the teens for the first time this season. Today and tomorrow we will be cold with highs in the lower 30s but these temperatures are only slightly below normal for this time of year. Mainly dry the next several days with temperatures near normal on the weekend and above normal most of next week.

Quiet weather for the start of 2013!


Happy New Year’s everyone!!

We have lots of clouds around this morning with relatively mild temperatures, 37 degrees in Clifton at 8AM. A cold front will cross the area around noon but come through the area dry. Colder air will move into the area late tonight and last into Friday, temperatures will be below normal but not frigid by any means. Dry with milder temperatures on the weekend into at least the early part of next week.

Tonight – Partly cloudy and colder, low around 20.
Wednesday – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 30s.
Thursday – Sunny, high in the mid 30s.

Marine Forecast: Small craft advisory issued through this evening, winds becoming northwest gusting to 25 knots, seas up to 4 feet.
Outlook – Mainly below advisory level winds and seas through next weekend, with the only times that advisories may be issued would be with weak cold fronts moving through on Friday and again on Sunday..

Seasonable cold but dry weather as we head into the new year!


Today we will have much less wind than yesterday and with temperatures in the upper 30s it will not feel as harsh as yesterday. Tonight temperatures will not be that bad for people outside watching the ball drop with readings at midnight around 32 degrees, a little above normal but about 10-15 degrees colder than last New Year’s Eve. On New Year’s Day which is tomorrow, temperatures will be a little milder with highs in the lower 40s.
Dry and the coldest air of the season so far Wednesday through Friday with lows in the teens and highs no quite hitting the 30 degree mark. Slowly moderating temperatures for next weekend and at this point no big winter storms are on the horizon.

Cold and windy Sunday!


The storm responsible for yesterday’s snow has moved to off the New England coast and intensified, we received 2.8″ of accumulation with most of the area getting 2-4″. Today the storm will give us windy conditions with gusts in excess of 40mph and with temperatures only in the mid 30s it will feel that much colder.
A rather quiet weather pattern this upcoming week with no big storms and at this point there is only a very slight chance of some flurries on New Year’s Eve night. It will be cold especially Wednesday and Thursday with highs staying below freezing. A milder trend will start next weekend and last most of next week.

Tonight – Mostly clear, low around 20.
Monday – Partly sunny, high in the upper 30s.
Monday night – Cloudy with a very slight chance of snow showers, low in the upper 20s.
