Some dense fog this morning will burn off to give us a sunny Saturday!


Yesterday we picked up a little over an inch of rain but some spots in northwestern New Jersey received up to three inches of precipitation. The rain has moved offshore but with high dew points and light winds there is considerable dense fog in our area with visibilities close to zero. As a drier air moves in on westerly winds the fog will burn off and today will be sunny with mild temperatures. A few degrees cooler on Sunday before becoming milder again starting Monday with mild temperatures continuing next week, there will be little or no rain most of the week..

The forecast: Today – Fog this morning becoming sunny after 9am, high near 70.
Tonight – Mostly clear and cooler, low in the upper 40s.
Sunday – Sunny, high in the mid 60s.
Monday – Sunny, high near 70.
Tuesday- Mostly sunny, high in the low 70s.
Wednesday – Partly sunny, high near 70.
Thursday – Mostly sunny, high near 70.
Friday – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 60s.

Marine Forecast: Small craft advisory for rough seas today – southwest wind becoming west gusting to 20 knots, seas to 6 feet.
Outlook – Near advisory level winds on Sunday lowering to below advisory conditions through the middle of next week.

Periods of rain and mild to end the work week, then a nice fall weekend!


It is mild this morning with most temperatures in the low 60s, radar shows most of the heavy rain is along the Pennsylvania/New Jersey border as of 8am, however the entire area should have periods of rain throughout the day, it won’t rain the whole day but when it does some will come down heavy, showers will end sometime this evening. The weekend will be very pleasant with mostly sunny conditions, it will be mild on Saturday and only a few degrees cooler on Sunday. Next week should be very pleasant with dry conditions and temperatures above normal for this time of year mostly at or above the 70 degree mark.

The forecast: Today – Periods of rain with a slight chance of a thunderstorm, high near 70.
Tonight: – Showers ending, clearing overnight, mild, lows in the upper 50s.
Saturday – Mostly sunny, high near 70.
Sunday – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 60s.
Monday – Sunny, high near 70.
Tuesday – Mostly sunny, high in the low 70s.
Wednesday – Partly sunny, high in the low 70s.
Thursday – Mostly sunny, high near 70.

Marine forecast: Small craft advisory issued now in effect till 6pm on Saturday, winds south today gusting to 20 knots, seas up to 7 feet.
Outlook: Winds and seas will drop to below advisory levels Sunday through the middle of next week.

Low temperatures this morning were a little lower than I thought they would be falling down to the upper 30s, however sunshine today will boast readings back up into the 60s. Increasing clouds tonight with rain developing during the early morning hours on Friday and continuing through Friday night, there may be some heavy rain in possible thunderstorms also, 1-2″ of rain is quite likely. Weekend looks great with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the 60s. Quite mild all of next week for this time of year with most high temperatures reaching 70 degrees and above..

Tonight – Increasing clouds with rain developing around 2am, low in the mid 50s.
Friday – Rain with a chance of thunderstorms with rain continuing till around midnight, high in the low 70s..
Saturday – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 60s.
Sunday – Sunny high in the mid 60s.
Monday – Mostly sunny, high near 70
Tuesday – Sunny, high in the low 70s.
Wednesday – Partly sunny, high in the low 70s

Marine Forecast: – Small craft advisory from tonight through Friday – Southeast wind becoming southerly gusting to 25 knots, seas up to 7 feet.
Outlook: Seas and winds below advisory levels this weekend through at least the middle of next week!

Quite pleasant fall day after a chilly morning!


Temperatures this morning have fallen into the 30s in many areas but with bright sunshine readings will rise into the 60s this afternoon. Thursday will also be mostly sunny and a little milder.. Friday will be wet and mild with about an inch of rain expected. Looks like most of the rain will be out of here by very early Saturday morning so a nice weekend looks on tap with seasonable temperatures in the 60s. Mild and dry early next week..

Thursday – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 60s.
Friday – Cloudy with rain likely Friday and Friday night, mild, high in the low 70s.

Sunday – Again mostly sunny with highs in the mid 60s.
Monday – Sunny, high in the upper 60s.
Tuesday – Mostly sunny, high near 70.

Marine Forecast: Today – Small craft advisory for rough seas, north wind to 10 knots becoming southerly, seas up to 6 feet.
Outlook: Advisories may be needed into Friday for high seas due to Hurricane Rafael well out in the Atlantic, below advisory level winds and seas for the weekend into early next week.

Sunshine and cooler weather for your Tuesday!


Yesterday’s clouds and showers have moved offshore as a cold front passed east of the area, today we will have more sunshine but it will be cooler with highs a little below normal for this time of year. Wednesday and Thursday will be dry and a little milder. Unsettled weather Friday through the weekend but I believe the best chance of rain will be on Friday, temperatures during this period will be seasonably mild.

Wednesday – Mostly sunny, high in the mid 60s.
Thursday – Mostly sunny during the day but increasing clouds by evening with a chance of rain late at night, high in the upper 60s.

Sunday – Partly sunny, high in the mid 60s.
Monday – Mostly sunny, high in the upper 60s.

Marine Forecast: Today – Small craft advisory till 8PM, northwest winds gusting to 30 knots, seas to 5 feet.
Outlook: Swells over the ocean may approach advisory levels due to Hurricane Rafael well offshore in the Atlantic Thursday and Friday, also advisories may be needed for the weekend as a low pressure moves into our area…
