Another hot July 18th, relief is on the way preceded by a good chance of strong storms!


I have been keeping daily records for nearly 40 years and today, July 18th has the most 90 degree plus days than any other day of the year and today will make it 20 out of 40. We are starting out very warm with lows not going much below 80 degrees over the area. Strong to severe storms later in the day and evening are likely. Tomorrow will be less hot and less humid and by Friday we may have a nice rainfall with temperatures only reaching the 70s.. Weekend looks good, dry and in the 80s, warming trend next week, again!.

Forecast: Today, partly sunny with thunderstorms developing mainly after 4PM, some storms will be accompanied by small hail, strong winds and very heavy rain along with cloud to ground lightning, highs in the upper 90s.

Tonight: Thunderstorms likely mainly before 2am, lows in the low 70s.

Thursday, mostly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower, high near 90.

Friday, mostly cloudy with a chance of showers, high around 80.

Saturday and Sunday, mostly sunny with highs in the mid 80s.

Monday partly sunny with a chance of shower, highs near 90.

Tuesday, mostly sunny with highs in the upper 80s.

Marine Forecast: Today, south-southwest winds to 12 knots, seas to 4 feet, scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.
Outlook: Near advisory level seas and winds from Friday into early Saturday, seas up to 5 feet, winds to 20 knots, otherwise sub-advisory level conditions into early next week.
