Relief from the intense heat!

Thunderstorms brought quick relief to the heat but not before having temperatures pass the century mark., in Clifton I recorded 102 degrees, the highest reading of this hot summer.. The thunderstorms were kind of lame in my area, only .15″ of rain fell with only a little thunder, however damaging winds, hail and heavy rain were close by. Andover and Mahwah NJ had wind damage and downtown Manhattan had rather large hail. Today will be about 15 degrees cooler and tomorrow we will get a nice steady rainfall that will help our burnt grass, temperatures on Friday will not get out of the 70s.. This morning lots of cirrus clouds from the west is dimming our sunshine and those clouds will be around most of the day, however it still will be pleasantly warm with continued low humidity today.. A warm front on Saturday will be crossing the area and depending on how fast this front moves through will determine how much clouds are around. Two of the computer models show a huge difference in high temperatures, one has the high at 85, another 95 degrees, so we will split the difference. Sunday we will be in the warm sector with high humidity along with higher chances of showers and thunderstorms, some of those storms can result in very heavy rain but don’t cancel any outdoor plans since the chances are 50-50 of us having any rain at all..
