Humidity remains along with a chance of thunderstorms!

Well the forecast made yesterday was a little bit of a bust as all the rain fell in about a three hour period from 11am to 2pm where I recorded 1.18″ of rain during that time and we had no rain this rest of the afternoon and at night. No severe weather occurred in this area but Long Island had a weak tornado, Connecticut also had some wind damage.

This morning the dew points are still in the oppressive mid 70s and they should stay high as a cold front slowly approaches from the west. There is a 50% chance of thunderstorms during the day that still may contain very heavy rain.

Hopefully we can clear out a little bit tonight as the peak of the Perseid meteor shower happens overnight, conditions will be better on Sunday night for viewing any of that activity.
